As far as we were concerned, the best chips in the area. Fried to order, served with a smile. This is a place we will return to, when we are in the area.

You will find the chip shop easily in the village from the permanently extended queue out the door as the service is so slow, haphazard and unprofessional .(the owner asked what everyone in the shop wants writes it on a paper bag and then starts cooking)
I visited this place on Friday 2nd August and waited approximately 35-40 mins to be served a fish and chips that was hard, dry, swamped in batter and chewy with equally fibrous chips. The food was so inedible i fed it to the dog who refused it first time.
If the food quality was bad that was equally matched by the unpleasant nature of the service staff having requested a large fish to be put in on entry to the shop as other fish and chip shops do i was Reprimanded and told that i could order when it was my turn (more or less Shut up).
This shop only shows an interest in you if you are local, regular or have an enormous order in fact they are like treacle with those they know .Obviously my £4.60 for fish and chips may well have been thrown down a nearby drain for what i was served for it. I am well travelled and have eaten in many types of establishments but have never been served leftovers anywhere until now.
Nothing could convince me to return here.

It is a good sign when the locals are queued up waiting for the chippy to open. Large portions of excellent fish and chips cooked to order. My daughter loved the mushy peas. It is a small takeaway shop, so we ate in the car. Definitely worth finding John Dory, and the price is about one-half what we paid elsewhere.

Day out at lindisfarne, followed by fish and chips, with sausages. Freshly fried, really light batter. Great banter whilst we waited.
