“Excellent dog-friendly cottage on the beautiful Northumberland coast”
Reviewed October 19, 2014 for a stay in October 2014

Just ideal for us, close to the superb Beadnell beach (50m across the private lane and through the dunes), and dog friendly. The front garden is enclosed and the house has a large porch that opens on to it, so ideal for coats, wellies and dogs. The cottage is really old (which we liked) but has everything you could need (except perhaps a frying pan that is non-stick!). The only slightly odd thing about the layout is that the bathroom is on the ground floor and accessed off the kitchen. This did not bother us at all, but worth being aware of. Melanie had provided a lovely bottle of white wine on our arrival (which didn't last long!) and was on the end of the 'phone if we needed anything. Beadnell is a perfect base for exploring this section of Northumberland coast (we walked all of the section from Craster north to Bamburgh). There is a little shop in the village and 2 good pubs (decent food in the Craster Arms, didn't try the food in The Towers but heard it was also good). Seahouses is just 2 miles away and has a Co-op, various gift shops, an indian and a great chippy (Lewis's). Also not to forget the famous Swallow Fish, for the must-have kippers and other fishy goodies! We will back - to Northumberland and to this cottage.

“lovely dog friendly cottage”
Reviewed October 9, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We spent a week with our alsation. Two min walk to the beach with miles of sandy beach n dunes to walk on. Cottage very comfortable n dog friendly all we needed was there. There was a damp issue but melanie knows about this and is dealing with a refurb in december.
It was not a big issue and its being sorted out. The cottage is clean and tidy with plenty of room and all mod cons. Sky and wifi etc. Its a great base with plenty to do out and about. A vast majority of places are very dog friendly allowing dogs in pubs and cafes. Will loved the peace and quite and will be coming back

“relaxing and comfortable”
Reviewed July 23, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

A regular traveller to the area this was my first time stopping at the Granary, the whole booking communication process is probably the best I have ever come across and the property on first arrival is very welcoming nicely maintained garden and for a old building light and airy inside the owner had left a note explaining a few problems with he property and that they are to be addressed with a refurb at the end of the the year
Overall a good stay but there were a number of small issues nothing on its own a concern but added together let the place down but on looking at the rest of the property and the care that goes in Im sure when the refurb is done at the end of the year this will be a excellent place to stay it has plenty of character well furnished rooms and good sized rooms secure garden at back off road parking overall enjoyed my stay and would recommend the Granary to anyone planning a visit to the area

“a little bit of heaven.”
Reviewed April 14, 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Weve just returned form our 6th or 7th stay at this brilliant cottage and the first thing we did when we got back home was to book next years stay.
It is always spotlessly clean, regularly upgraded ( eg carpets and sofa's have been renewed in the last 2 years ), and there is always a bottle of wine on welcome and occasional bunches of flowers - nice little touches you dont always get at other places. Melanie the owner is often waiting around at arrival time and usually makes a point of having a welcome chat.
Its very dog friendly, although you'd never know on arrival such is the level of cleanliness. The kitchen has everything you would need, including a double oven.
Its situated right behind the dunes and at the top of the bay, perfect for long dog walks and its so peaceful and quiet, the thick stone walls and double glazing keep out just about all noises .
Our favourite place on the Northumberland cost.

Spent a fantastic week here and in the cottage next door (Seabreeze). Perfect cottages. Wonderfully furnished and equipped. Location perfect for beach, walks, cycling, rock pooling adventures and travelling further afield...if you can tear yourself away from Beadnell Bay and it's wonderful beach. Really comfy accom, lovely owner too!
