“A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

First experience was meeting the staff who were very polite and extremely helpful. The accommodation was clean spacious and very comfortable. The menu catered for everyones taste and was true value for money, including vegetarian options. Being dog friendly was a welcome change from a lot of he places we have stayed at. The option to use the beer garden to dine made ti just that little bit more special. A big thank you to all the staff at the craster arms.

Room Tip: Room 2 is excellant.

The wife and I spent a lovely three days in the quiet village of Beadnell. We stayed at The Craster Arms and it was absolutely brilliant. The B&B was spot on and with the resteraunt on your doorstep you were spoiled for choice with Real Ale a must for my wife and I.
The beer garden was an added bonus especially on warm days. This is the future place for us....why look for any where else?

Room Tip: Any room here is Excellent.

Nice to see the Craster Arms is still dog friendly. We always eat in this pub when holidaying in the area. Visited Sunday evening and the place was packed but managed to find a table. I opted for a pasta dish with king prawns which was ok but nothing special and to be honest the sauce just tasted like melted cheese. My partner had scampi and chips, not a huge portion and oven chips. Typical pub grub, cheap and cheerful.

Have been here since the end of May and what a joy to be here. The only bad thing about the Craster Arms is I have to go home. Keep extending my stay. Although it has been very busy, the food and service has been top notch, even the new members of staff are friendly and obliging, but Chico and Michael believe in good customer service. The previous review is extremely surprising as we eat there every night and we have encountered no problems, you just have to be patient when they are busy as food is cooked to order. The Craster Arms have now received AA 4* Inn rating on their first attempt and the Cask Marque for Real Ale both well deserved. They have recently refurbished the bar/lounge area to good effect, but they still allow dogs. The soft furnishings in the rooms have been upgraded to luxurious standard. They have a new specials board with some lovely dishes especially the Tapas and Stroganoff. They are willing to alter dishes if able to suit your taste, nothing is too much trouble and as usual the food is excellent. You collect the menus from the bar and go to the bar to place your order.
We come here every 6 weeks and look forward with anticipation to each visit.
You only need to look at the majority of reviews for this establishment to realise it is highly thought of and that customers come back time and again.

Room Tip: Room 2 is a suite with walk in shower

It was the first night of our holiday and we needed somewhere nearby that was dog friendly..... I wish I had made beans on toast in the cottage instead.
Let us start by saying that we had to ask twice for menus. Then we had to actually return to the bar to ask for someone to take our order. We ordered 3 meals, all with mashed potato . It took a while but the food arrived and all looked lovely. The server said he would be back with the potato .... and never returned. We once again returned to the bar to ask for the rest of our meal. Eventually 10 minutes later a tiny dish of new potatoes were brought out, but by that time our meals were finished.
When paying I asked that the price of the potato was removed from the bill .... the barman said that he hadn't charged me. A quick calculation proved that he had. I informed him that I had no intention of paying for food that we didn't receive and £10.99 for two small pieces of liver, one small piece of bacon and a few vegetables was a rip off. I know mistakes can happen, but the complete lack of apology or attempt to do anything about the situation was just plain rude. Such a shame as the food we did eat was very nice, it's just a pity we were still hungry when we left.
The staff who work here ( 2 males in particular ) couldn't care less about their customers. We had sloppy service from the moment we walked through the door and their attitude was appalling. Perhaps the owner of this establishment needs to overhaul their staff and it would serve them well to realise that not all of us are simply passing through, some of us return year after year. We will not be back to the Craster Arms however.

Last visited Beadnell in Sept 2011 and left a terrible review of The Craster Arms under the title "Sack your Chef". Well we went back in May this year and as we won't leave the dog alone on the first night decided to risk the Craster Arms and what a difference. New staff and more importantly a new chef!! Menu much better, food excellent and nicely presented, staff very friendly and efficient and a Manager who cares. Out of 14 nights we ended up eating at the Craster Arms 9 nights and could not fault the food or service. Would highly recommend The Craster Arms to other visitors to Beadnell - keep up the great work we will be back!!

Northumberland is full of hidden gems - a castle here, a fort there.....and a very decent pub hidden away in Beadnell. We hadn't been here for 7 or 8 years, but as soon as you walk in, you know the welcome and the atmosphere is the same. Good honest food, children and dog friendly and a delightful location. Recommended!
