“February Trip 2013”
Reviewed February 8, 2013

Very pleased with welcome on checking in. Room very comfortable and warm (bearing in mind 2 degrees outside. Very clean and well presented en suite room with coffee and tea making facilities and well equipped bathroom with lovely towels. Buffet breakfast with full English first day could not be faulted and we did not eat for the rest of the day!

Walk to the beach about 10 minutes and Seahouses about 45 minutes.

Room Tip: Stairs to second floor quite steep - not for vertigo sufferers.

We are regular visitors to Beadnell Towers - but that is hardly surprising. The fabulous beach is just a stroll away, the food is wonderful and the atmosphere always welcoming. The staff are very special. The hotel itself is quirky, original, captivating. We visit during the year, we go for New Year and we are always looking for another spare date in our calendar. Mick and Alison run a (relatively) hidden treasure...

Room Tip: Book early!

A group of us booked this hotel for our annual christmas get together. The rooms were freezing the showers a trickle and the owners unsociable and uninterested in their guests. We complained about the showers being very poor and were told "maybe we should try showering at a different time of day when they werent busy! At the end of a long days walk we asked if we could have a drink at the bar only to be told "too busy at the moment could you come back in half and hour. We wanted to ask if the owners realised they were a hotel. Very dissappointed and will definitely never return. What we hoped would be a wonderful cosy hotel turned out to be cold and unfriendly. Next year we will go to a hotel where we at least feel welcome!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your stay at the Beadnell Towers.

We take our guest observations very seriously, therefore if a guest review is found to be misrepresentative, unfair or deliberately misleading we will of course respond.

Our afternoon check-in time is from 2.00pm; consequently if a guest arrives early during the winter months and has not previously notified us of their early arrival then there designated room may not be warmed sufficiently; however our bedrooms are most certainly not freezing.

We realise some guests prefer to shower rather than use a bath and are aware that poor water pressure affects some of our bathroom showers, we therefore aim to have these showers upgraded by summer 2013. The reviewer omitted to mention there was an abundance of hot water to use in a bath. Regarding the comment ‘try showering at different time of day’, I am confident that no member of staff would have made this remark to our guests.

We would politely remind the reviewer that we are not a hotel and do not advertise the business as a hotel. Our Visit Britain designation is a 4 star guest accommodation. During the winter season we close our bar at 2.30pm and reopen at 5.30pm. If a guest requests a drink from the bar we will always reopen as soon as possible, however this may not be immediately.

We look forward in welcoming new & returning guests for our 2013 season.

Thank you for taking the time to read this response and we look forward to your visit to the Beadnell Towers.

Always enjoy going here. We eat here regularly at least once a month and sometimes more often. The food is great. The staff are polite and friendly and provide a good service. It's not cheap but we always have a good meal. House white wine is very nice!!

Whilst staying in Beadnell went to the Beadnell Towers for a meal, the meal was reasonable but nothing to write home about but my complaint was the cost, it is not cheap especially for an average meal. Not much atmosphere in the place. Some of the staff were helpful but not all.
The major downside is that the staff said no dogs were allowed inside they could go in the beer garden, OK on a nice warm summers day but what they are few and far between.
Wouldn't go back found a better pub in Beadnell that is dog friendly.

Stayed here for an end of the year weekend break and had no complaints(18th & 19th Nov). We had a standard double which actually had a couple of singles in the room too, so really it was more of a family room. Lovely and clean, large, warm, nice en-suite, hot water, ideal.
We ate both nights in the restaurant and the quality and choice of food was good, with plenty of fresh fish on the menu, which you should expect, given the location. Good full breakfast.
Staff friendly and although it was a little pricy, if you contact the hotel direct rather than booking on-line you'll find they have some good deals ie £47 per person for dbb. at this time of year.
It's looking very festive, with the staff putting up a lot of decorations.
Only thing that I felt was missing was the lack of heat iin the bar, which had a wood burning stove but it wasn't fired up. Would have made all of the difference, after a chilly walk along the beach.

Room Tip: Ask for a standard double as we had no bother with ours. 2nd floor is quieter than the first floor r...

Staff were very friendly and the food in the bar (lobster pot) was excellent. The hotel is let down by the rooms - we had no hot water for showers but you could get it if you ran a bath. We were in a premium standard room but it was above the kitchens and was extremely noisy. Loud music was playing during the evening service and then the drone of the extractor fans began around 7am when they turned up for the breakfast service.

Room Tip: Don't choose one under the kitchen.
