“Stay away from the 'kitchen' room”
Reviewed January 28, 2008

A nice destination for a romantic getaway ... but make sure you don't get stuck with the room above the kitchen.
The industrial strength fan started vibrating the room at about 6.30pm and when we we complained, we were told it would be shut off at 9.30pm.
At 10.15pm, we were sitting on the bed giggling at situation: the kitchen staff singing, the fan whirring and the clattering about around the bin.
The whole thing started again at 6.30am the next morning, and the room also filled with the stench of frying meat.
A real shame as the hotel and staff were lovely :(

I stayed at this lovely hotel for 4 nights in August 07 with my mother. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean and the food was delicious. We booked the dinner bed and breakfast which is excellent value for money. The restaurant was very popular and full of local people, which in itself is a great recommendation.
I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Seven of us stayed here for 3 nights while playing golf at the excellent surrounding courses on a half board basis.

The rooms were clean, well cared for and comfortable. Coffee and tea facilities were in each room. The bathrooms were in good condition but the showers were very weak and not really useable.

The restaurant is excellent value and the food very good with a local flavour eg Craster kippers for breakfast, loaclly made sausages etc. The restaurant adjoins the bar and is a friendly family run pub restaurant. The bar has the feel of a local pub and is clearly popular with locals. The atmosphere was very friendly and we spent a lot of the evening playing pool.

This is a lovely base and I would stay there again. greart value great food.

Trying to find reasonably priced accommodation for a group of 26 birdwatchers was proving very difficult until Mick from Beadnell Towers replied to my e-mail enquiry. He bent over backwards to sort us out and gave us a very good deal.
Our experience staying at the hotel far exceeded our expectations with delightfully comfortable rooms, friendly and helpful staff, and food beyond our wildest dreams. The Table d'Hote menu gave excellent choice and the food itself was cooked to perfection and the quantities were plentiful.
The entertainment on Saturday night was superb for those of us who went to it, while those who did not go were not disturbed by any sound at all.
We would not even contemplate going anywhere else when we next return to Northumberland.
Thank you, Mick and all your staff.

We stayed a Friday night at the Beadnell Towers, having booked a Premium Room at the good low-season price of £70 online.

Our room (#1) was very good: the sleigh bed was attractive and comfortable and the bathroom was clean, quite large, and well-appointed.

We ended up deciding to eat in but our arrival at 8:50pm didn't faze the kitchen and the waiting staff were extremely pleasant at dinner and next morning at breakfast. Both meals were good.

I seem to remember that checkout time is 11am: quite useful if you want a relaxing start to the day, or have been over-doing the real ales in the bar!

Overall, I'd thoroughly recommend the Beadnell Towers, although I can't comment on the 'standard' rooms. The worst I can say is that the bedside lights in our room were too bright (60W) of of quite a weird (if amusing) design!

Beadnell makes a fine base for touring this lovely part of the Northumbrian coast and the village itself has a pretty harbour and fine beach, albeit a little distance from the hotel (but comfortably walkable).

My Girlfriend and I are used to staying in 5 star international hotels worldwide but wanted somewhere quiet for a short break.

This hotel had been recommended to us and more than lived up to the recommendation.

On booking I asked for the bridal suite and the owner was honest enough to say that he would no longer advertise it as such - but it was a great room.

The food was superb, although the bar closed at 11 - we could have stayed there for another couple of hours. I've been to Beadnell before and walked much of this coast - the hotel is perfectly situated for this.

The staff are helpul, the owner is hands on to ensure the guests are looked after, and all in all it was a very enjoyable stay.

One small gripe - we were awoken early by some VERY noisy plumbing. The owner promised to look into it.

The owners are very friendly and hard working but not intrusive. The bar meals are excellent value. Many of the items on the extensive menu change daily.
Five minute from Seahouses, where you can takie a boat to the Farne Islands. A NT Bird Sanctuary.
Ten minutes from Bamburgh Castle. An immaculately preserved home. Visit the Armstrong aeronautical museum.
The holy island of Lindisfarne is 45 minutes to the North. The exterior of the casle is austere, but the interior is a delight. The island is reached via a causeway which is covered at high tide.
Less than an hour to the South is Cragside (NT), the fromer home of the first Lord Armstrong, a self taught inventive engineer. He designedd the water system for Newcastle and the mechanism for London's Tower Bridge.
The coastline has long sandy beaches and rolling sand dunes.
