“Probably my favourite castle!”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

I have been here several times since moving to the North East and I absolutely adore it. It is good value for money and we've taken a lot of visitors with us to see the castle. As it has been privately owned and well looked after there is a lot to see. The main buildings are a bit more like Osborne House (Isle of Wight) rather than your classic castle, because it was lived in for so long but the exhibits are plentiful and there is a lot of interesting information about them. The cafe is a little expensive but average compared to National Trust sites and the food is very nice. There have been a few art exhibitions on when we've been before which is always interesting. The beach surrounding the castle is gorgeous and it makes a fantastic day out. The scenary is lovely!

Wow, you can come again! Thanks for your endorsement and we'll have to work hard to become your favourite castle. The Art Gallery returns in two weeks for the start of May with lots of new pictures.

Cheers

“fantastic castle amazing beach”
Reviewed March 23, 2013

Bamburgh Castle is a fanatstic castle, huge place in beautiful grounds ovelooking an amazing beach, its very well kept with lots of interesting items and information, Keith one of the guides is full of informaton and great stories of resident ghosts! you will be there for a good two/three hours and thats before you head to the tearoom for cakes, scones or home cooked meals, or you could take a picnic and head down to the awesome beach or you could head to seahouses for fish and chips, a great trip for everyone. Its 9.75 each adult and 2.00 to park, if youre a historic scotland member you get discount, even at full price its well worth it.

“Excellent visit”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

We walked to Bamburgh Castle from the Victoria Hotel in Bamburgh. This was a very impressive Castle, very well preserved and with some very beautiful rooms. Guides were very pleasant and very informative. We felt it was very good value for money. The Castle Tea Room was also very friendly, clean and with plenty of choice and good value for money.

Useful tip for holidays and bank holidays we open at 10 am to give visitors the chance to see all the outside bits before the castle room open at 11am. This then gives visitors the afternoon to explore another amazing part of the county.

Cheers
