Owner description: RNLI Grace Darling Museum tells the story of Grace and her father's heroic rescue of nine survivors of the wreck of the SS Forfarshire in September 1838. “Free and fabulous”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2014

Its only small but well done and very engaging. I shed a few tears when watching the film of the Grace Darling story. The lighthouse which lights up and has quite a few activities around it was interesting and the lady at reception pointed us towards the activities that our two year old grandaughter would like. She loved it. Some good things in the little gift shop. Visit this and support the RNLI which is a very worthwhile organisation. We picked up the words to the Grace Darling song and her story free which has added to the experience as we now it in with our own little Grace.

“Very good”

This is a lovely little museum solely dedicated to Grace Darling. In the immediate vicinity you can also see the house where she was bought up and the churchyard where she is buried.
It has interactive stations for the children, lots of information and artefacts. The boat that she rowed out to the Farne Islands is on display,it really makes you see what a remarkable woman she was.
This museum has free admission although there are little boats where you can deposit a donation and I must say it's well worth it!

“Museum and St Aidan's Church”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 2, 2013

2 people - weekday visit - early in month.
Free Admission (but RNLI Donation appreciated) - No dedicated parking but plenty nearby - Shop - smashing guide book available.

Museum :- Really friendly, helpful and welcoming staff/volunteers - Great audio visual presentation of the events that fateful night - Informative displays, etc. (including hands on items for kids of all ages).

Church (opposite the museum) :- Itself in beautiful position with interesting interior - Has 3 part Grace Darling Memorial stain glass window inside - And her tomb in the churchyard.

Well worth an hour plus of anyone's time. - Def. recommended.

“Small but worth a visit”

This is an interesting little place, Its more an RNLI shop but its quaint and there is some interesting information

We were told about this after going on a boat trip and seeing all the Seals off the cost around the Islands,

They gave us quite a bit of information and suggested the visit here.
