This place certainly lives up to its name! We found ourselves in the area on a bank holiday Sunday evening. Having planned a pub meal in teh evening we discovered that none of the local pubs served evening meals. We ventured into Ashinston, which isnt the most inviting place. Haveing checked trip advisor we headed to this restaurant and werent disappointed. The decor is nice, the restaurant is clean and more welcoming than the others in the locality. The staff were friendly and helpful. They offer a buffet, which isnt traditional. Basically you pay the price and can order as many times and as many dishes as you like (starters and maincourses)- all they ask is that you dont leave them uneaten. This means that your meal is freshly cooked and hot, not like traditional buffets. The food was lovely too. Although perhaps a spice warning should be put alongside some of the options. My son (10) ordered a sizzling Beef dish, which had no mention of chillis, and which was VERY spicey...... but he is quite keen on a bit of spice and despite the sweat dripping down his head, said that it was his best Chinese meal EVER!
The only reason that we have marked down is because outside the menu indicated that children under 8 ate half price from the buffet (this wasnt repeated on the inside menu), yet despite asking their ages, our youngest was charged full price. We didnt quibble (maybe we should have) but he ate a fair amount and really enjoyed it and so we felt it was worth it. If hungry and in Ashington, this is the place to go. Would definately go back
