Stayed here for two nights 20/21-04-2013. Reception staff were all helpful and welcoming. Room was grand. Clean and fresh, bed was the comfiest bed i've been in for a while. Plenty
of hot water for baths and a great shower. Food next door was good and very reasonably priced. As was bar prices. Lovely walk round lake. Weather was cooled and windy, but no one could help that.

We stayed here last week for one night on our way to Edinburgh from Yorkshire. The location is excellent, alongside a large lake which forms part of a country park. With a big car park and adjoining Brewers Fayre everything is so convenient.
Our ground floor room had a lake view and we enjoyed watching the swans. The room was clean and comfortable and had plug sockets in the right places! Even the mirror was well lit. We would not hesitate to stay here again, it has appeal for all age groups.

We arrived at 2pm and our room was ready so we checked in very quickly and efficiently. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and well organised. Our room was a standard family room for two adults and one child. Even with the extra bed the room did not feel cramped. I had asked for a lake view and that's what we got. We were on the ground floor so the view was obscured by the car park. I was afraid that it may be a little noisy being right next to the car park ( I do love peace and quiet!) but I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was in the room. Our sleep was not disturbed at all. The room itself was very clean. The bathroom was spotless, the towels were fluffy and the shower was good, not a power shower but good water pressure nonetheless.
We ate in the adjoining pub at about 3pm. The food is never going to win awards but it was ok. If you avoid busy eating times I think your food stands a better chance of being edible.
The breakfast was good and the cooked breakfast was great. Your eggs are cooked to order and I asked for scrambled which were done just how I like them. The coffee from the self service machine was really good too (I like good coffee but I am not a coffee snob so don't know if it would suit those with more discerning palate!) and there was a good choice of cereal. We all enjoyed breakfast.
The negatives were the amount of litter around the grounds. It should be a beauty spot but the rubbish put me off wanting to look outside.
We only stopped over on our way to Scotland so were not bothered about exploring the immediate area. We did go down to the coast to Newbiggin by the Sea. There was not much there but it was a change of scenery and there is a cooperative store in the high street and a nice cafe on the front in the maritime centre but its only open Wednesday to Sunday.
Just a short drive north on the coastal route and you are in a much nicer area. From Warkworth onwards its beautiful little villages with nicer places to eat and gorgeous scenery.
I would say the hotel was good value for money if you need a stopover in a quiet location but its not somewhere you would want to stay for more than one night.

I recently stayed here during the easter holidays with my mum and 2 daughters. We have stayed here before and always receive a warm welcome from the staff. The hotel is clean and the beds comfortable. The hotel setting is absolutely lovely overlooking a beautiful lake full of swans. There is a play area for small children. The restaurant is right next door. We didnt have breakfast here this time but have done in the past. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Premier inns do everything for a price and you don' t get any more that what you paid for. Beds are comfortable but everything smacks budget. The food and its availability times is dreadful the only redeeming thing is the amount of cholesterol rich food available for a budget. Car park was rough and pitted.

I stayed here whilst away on business and it cost £80 for the night. Firstly, reception and restaurant (brewers fayre) were very friendly with first class service. This really matters and if there had been a problem (which there wasn't) that would have gone a long way. Room is standard Premier Inn, very clean but not particularly well sound proofed. I purchased a meal offer before I arrived, £22.99 for a 3 course meal and a drink. I if I'd known it was a brewers fayre I wouldn't have done this, pub food is filling and 3 courses was a lot to chomp through!. the meal deal offer is meals such as sausage and mash, lasagne, steak and chips. The meal was actually very nice and, again, service was friendly and efficient. I didn't bother with breakfast. Shower worked well and was a good temperature. Well maintained, pleasant hotel in nice surroundings.
