Description: The Treehouse is one of the most magical and unique restaurants to be found anywhere in the world. It’s high up in the treetops, with a roaring log fire in the centre of the room and trees growing through the floor. Most importantly, the locally-inspired food is delicious. Always featuring local fish and seafood, meats from Northumberland’s farmlands and other regional specialities, the Treehouse Restaurant menus highlight local quality, taste and change throughout the seasons. There’s a great wine list, a good range of beers and regular live music. For a family dining experience that you’ll all enjoy, a great night out with friends or a romantic dinner for two, there’s nowhere quite like it. We always recommend booking ahead for lunch or dinner.

“Wedding venue”
Reviewed June 11, 2014

When we chose this venue for my daughters wedding we thought it was going to be magical well it didn't disappoint. It had everything for all ages. Disco and karaoke in the potting shed, dressing up photo booth in the other shed and nice quite music for those wanting to sit a talk in the restaurant. The children (and adults) playing on the robe bridge. We had previously tasted the menu and chose wisely for the wedding, although the lamb wasn't as tasty as the first tasting it was still delicious.
The only downside was it rained quite a lot and the Wooden walkway was extremely slippery, perhaps they could cover the walkway for occasions like weddings.

If u want somewhere different for that special occasion try out the treehouse.

“Disappointed”
Reviewed June 7, 2014

Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere with fairy lights but food was ridiculously slow and witnessed another family walking out after waiting 20 minutes for order to be taken. To be fair though the staff acknowledged the slow service without us having to complain and significantly reduced our bill to compensate

“Wonderful location and atmosphere however service let our visit down”
Reviewed June 3, 2014

First visit to the Treehouse for Sunday lunch as part of a weekend visiting The Winter Wonderland experience at Alnwick Gardens. Table was booked for myself, my Husband and three year old daughter in advance for 12pm and when we arrived there were only a handful of other guests seated.
We were served drinks promptly and given menus to choose our meals and then ordered. We were served starters quickly but then waited 30 minutes for our main courses. The tables next to us whose guests came in ( one table seating in excess of 8 adults and the other 4 adults) after us strangely received their meals before us which we were not impressed at and we then waited a further 30minutes for our table to be cleared and we had to ask for the dessert menu.

Due to the above my husband refuses to set foot into this restaurant again as he is under the impression that due to the tables next to us providing more revenue than a family of three that was why they were served before us despite being seated a good time afterwards. Also due to time we had to wait between courses this left us with a very unsettled little girl.
It is an absolute shame that we were treated in this manner and I feel very disappointed in this abysmal level of service especially from an establishment of this calibre.
I certainly wouldn't recommend this restaurant to others unless you are in a large party and intend to order large amounts of alcohol as this seemingly provides you with better service.

“Excellent meal in great surroundings”
Reviewed June 3, 2014

3 of us had a meal here last Saturday night.
The location was excellent, really quirky and ideal for somewhere just a bit different.
The food quality was really top drawer, 2 of us had the lamb & the other had the steak.
Not cheap but you get what you pay for.
Really enjoyed it

“Cosy lunch in the Potting Shed”
Reviewed June 3, 2014

The day we passed through Alnwick was fairly cold and miserable, so we stopped in at the Potting Shed for a cup of soup in between visiting the gardens and the castle. The tiny cafe sparked memories of Enid Blyton's Faraway Tree, and the atmosphere was both warm and inviting, which was exactly what we were looking for. The food was really nice, although the price didn't quite match the size of the servings we were given.

Overall, though, it was a great experience and I'd happily visit again.
