Description: The Treehouse is one of the most magical and unique restaurants to be found anywhere in the world. It’s high up in the treetops, with a roaring log fire in the centre of the room and trees growing through the floor. Most importantly, the locally-inspired food is delicious. Always featuring local fish and seafood, meats from Northumberland’s farmlands and other regional specialities, the Treehouse Restaurant menus highlight local quality, taste and change throughout the seasons. There’s a great wine list, a good range of beers and regular live music. For a family dining experience that you’ll all enjoy, a great night out with friends or a romantic dinner for two, there’s nowhere quite like it. We always recommend booking ahead for lunch or dinner.

On a recommondation we decided to celebrate New Years Eve here, it was fantastic.

This is a truly stunning restaurant (visually) backed up by first class attentive service by friendly staff.

The food was first class as well, I started with a warm pigeon salad and then after a palate cleansing sorbet had the guinea fowl set on a rosi which was perfectly cooked, for dessert I had the pistachio nut creme brulee - delicious!

We were a party of six and we all enjoyed the evening very much, looking forward to eating there again in 2013.

This place is amazing. Came with husband and two kids today - booking en route in car and lucky to get a table because it was busy. We sat by the central fire which was cozy and we were well looked after. The children chose sausages and chips and sausages and mash which came with a lovely cast iron pot each of tasty mixed vegetables. They also had ice cream and cookies to finish. I chose a beautiful sauté mixed mushrooms on brioche to start - it was awesome! Husband had warm goats cheese salad with beetroot and cranberry. I followed with the best monkfish I've ever had on a bed of puy lentils with veg and bacon lardons. It came with excellent vegetables served separately. Husband had pheasant wrapped in bacon with bulgar wheat in a whiskey and haggis sauce - also with extra veg on side. We were too satisfied to manage dessert or cheese but were extremely impressed with the appearance of those chosen by others coming out of the kitchen. Coffee was good quality too. A truly magical experience topped off by a winter visit to the gardens and the children enjoying the tractors and water feathers and bamboo maze. Definitely recommended. Good value set menu for such excellent food too. We will be back!

We visited on Friday lunchtime. Very friendly service and wonderful setting. The best bit was the lentil and white bean stew. It was so nice to have a vegetarian meal that is actually aimed at real vegetarians i.e. pulses which are the staple of veggie cooking. We are usually offered goats cheese with everything, so this made a very enjoyable change. Compliments to the chef and keep up the good work. More pulses please!

My boyfriend took me for a romantic meal there in between Christmas and new year and I have to say it was the most magical experience from start to finish. From the fairy lights to the huge welcoming fire, the impeccable service and delicious food, the entire evening was a delight. We had a fantastic time and were very impressed with the wine selection and the one we picked was amazing. The vibe of the restaurant was fab, it was warm and welcoming with lots of other diners but it still seemed like we had lots of privacy and there was great music too. We will definitely be returning soon and have already recommended it to so many of our friends and family.
