We visited expecting to spend a couple of hours in the gardens but in fact spent the whole day there. The gardens are a mixture of formal and informal. The formal gardens were beautifully kept and full of interesting and colourful plants. Beyond that there are acres of grounds consisting of woods, river, lake and an arboretum made up from trees and shrubs from around the world. The tea room is excellent for a snack.
