Fantastic visit! We travelled from Seahouses for the day, with our 6yr old Boy (back in Aug '12). There is so much to see and do, and the people working there clearly enjoy what they are doing! Highlights were the broomstick flying lesson, and getting to use real swords! Will post photos later (if I can)

We went here as my daughter loves the Harry potter films and we both loved the day. There was a tour of all the places that featured in the film and a lot of information about the filming and what went on. The castle itself is also beautiful and we had a good tour around it and the gardens are amazing, also the town of Alnwick is such a lovely little place too as we went down for something to eat as the cafe was full. Overall a very enjoyable visit and will be visiting again very soon.

Alnwick castle is spectacular and the grounds are amazing - you will get some fantastic photos of the dark dramatic castle set among the manicured green lawns with rolling hills and valleys as a backdrop. We only planned a short visit here on our way to Edinburgh but wished we could have stayed longer. My daughter is a 'Harry Potter' fan so she was enthralled by the place. She had so much fun dressing up in a Tudor costume and making a 'fairy' wand but the highlight was definitely the a 'broomstick' flying lesson. If you time it right you can see costumed people from Harry Potter wandering around. We had a great time, my daughter still talks about it nearly a year on!
