“Well-appointed flat, perfect as a holiday base”
Reviewed July 15, 2012 for a stay in July 2012

We were recommended to stay at this flat by a work colleague, and were glad we did - it's an excellent little flat, spotlessly clean and with all amenities included, opposite the keep of Anlwick Castle across the road. Visitor's car-park pass for nearby off-road parking was a bonus too. The perfect base for exploring Alnwick and the Northumberland coastal region. Plenty of places to visit (and eat !) in Alnwick itself, and only a 35 mile drive to the Borders, with shorter trips to Bamburgh Castle, Lindisfarne, Howick Gardens, Dunstanburgh Castle to name but a few.
Thoroughly recommended - only slight niggle was the traffic noise from the road in the evenings.

“A cosy retreat”
Reviewed February 20, 2012 for a stay in February 2012

Lovely in every respect. Clean, comfortable accommodation with views of the castle walls. Convenient kitchen and bathroom. Cosy sitting room, comfortable bedroom. Free parking close by. Welcome basket containing goodies. Games to play in the evenings over a bottle of wine, after we'd returned from a day's exploring. Beautiful town with much to offer - castle, shops including the renowned Barter Books, meals, coffees and sports facilities. Ideal location for Northumbrian coast and castles, Hadrian's Wall, Lindisfarne, Durham, Newcastle and even a foray into Scotland. We would definitely go back!

Liked best: The overall feel of the property, and the location
Liked least: A little noise - from upstairs flat (children running round late?), and the "local youth" late on the Friday night - but it didn't last long.

“A lovely week”
Reviewed October 30, 2011 for a stay in October 2011

My husband and I have just spent a week in this clean, warm and comfortable apartment. The parking pass was a bonus, great location for local shops and visiting the surrounding area which is outstandingly beautiful. the people are warm and welcoming, there are plenty of places to eat if you don't feel like cooking when you get in from a long walk which we did most days. The welcome pack was very thoughtful,we will be going back. Thanks Joanna, from Pam, Jim, Rochdale.

“Lovely holiday accommodation”

The flat was absolutely perfect - very centrally based for sightseeing - the bed was so comfortable and has everything you could possibly want. The Castle and Gardens were wonderful - the parking permit was a real bonus - without any extra charge. The surrounding countryside was breathtaking - the beaches - especially Almouth and Bamburgh were wonderful. The Tree House Restaurant in Alnwick Gardens and Barters Books are a must see - we stayed a week and it wasn't long enough. There was also a very generous Welcome Pack - a really nice touch. The flat was on the 2nd floor so I would not recommend for anyone who can't manage stairs.

Management Response

Delighted you enjoyed your stay so much. Just to clarify, the flat is on the first floor, its just the stairs that are split level. Thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback, don't forget to use your repeat customer discount voucher for next year, it would be good to welcome you back.

“Great apartment in a convenient location”
Reviewed October 13, 2011 for a stay in August 2011

We really enjoyed our stay at Middle'in. The apartment had everything we needed, and we appreciated the fresh flowers, wine and basket of goodies. It was in a great location and handy for the town. The parking permit was very useful and we had no trouble finding a space. We will be back next year hopefully. Thank you Joanna.
