“Excellent fresh food at keen prices”
Reviewed September 6, 2013 via mobile

I had lunch here today (6 Sep) with three family members and a family friend. Quick service and excellent freshly prepared food. Calamari were thin cut and not at all rubbery, mushrooms were excellent. Main courses were very good, freshly cooked and served hot. Most mains are well under £10 and wine was also reasonable. I have paid twice these prices for inferior meals elsewhere and, if you are in Alnwick and like Italian food, this is where to be!

“nice food, good value”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

Justifiably busy little place with not many covers so book if possible. Nice menu with specials board options also. Food very good value although beer and wine a bit expensive. Would have been nice to have been offered something like rosemary roasted potatoes instead of the ubiquitous chips, but a minor thing. Cheaper than it's sister restaurant just 50 yards away, so worth trying if in the vicinity.

“Don't miss this place!”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

Fantastic little place, the food was wonderful and reasonably priced, the staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We waited about 10 minutes for a table on a Sunday evening, which was fine...well worth the wait!

“food gone downhill :-(”
Reviewed September 1, 2013 via mobile

have loved this place for years being local...fab service fab food but this changed the last time i visited and its only fair im upfront...had my usual the salmon prawn salad starter...normally perfect but last few times..salmon brown and funny taste...then the last time i had the usually gorgeous seafood tagnatelli but instead of the normal prawns and mussels there was jus chopped up baby octopus...ahh i was starving but it was vile..so watery too!!! this place used to be fab which is why im going to the trouble of writing a review as i would love to visit as often as i did but the last time really put me off so i hope they really do read these reviews...couldnt fault the service though!!

“Great food”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

We ate here twice whilst visiting the area. The first time our service was average at best, with two staff members who didn't seem very experienced but the food was delicious and the prices reasonable. We returned a few days later and again, the food was excellent. The bar/waiting staff were different that time and our service was great as we were served my a more experienced and very friendly young man. The place could do with a bit of tidying up as it looks a bit grubby - a lick of paint and a clean up would fix that - but the food was great and the prices very reasonable so we were satisfied customers and we'd eat here again if we are ever in Alnwick again.
