A small bistro style cafe which offers excellent value for money dining, portions are good and the quality of food is as good as most Italian restaurants with grandeur sorroundings.

“real italian”

Really good food and wine.
They have a good menu and plenty of choices.
Service was very good - wish we'd found it the first night for a meal.

“Italian Delight”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

After trying other places for dinner we decided to ask Jane and Authur owners of The Aydon House B & B, Alnwick, (our b & b for four nights) where else would be a good place to dine. The Tirreno Italian Restaurant was one of their suggestions. The restaurant from the outside looks quite plain, don`t let this put you off. On entering this establishment we were met by a friendly face who without booking found us a table by the window. Although you can purchase Pizza, go for one of the Italian chicken dishes you will not be disappointed, delicious with lots of flavour. Go for a bottle of the house wine at reasonable prices. The Caffe Tirreno turned out to be a good choice in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Try it, you might find you like it.

“Family friendly”
Reviewed July 5, 2013

Popped in with two young kids and the service and welcome was excellent. Menu was reasonable and although not a classic Italian it more than makes up for it with the service. The meal itself was good and the price was very competitive. Would definitely come back.

“Best meal I've had in ages!”
Reviewed July 5, 2013

Although we had to wait for a table, the staff kept us updated about how long it would take and an early estimate of 20 mins was actually only 10mins so well worth us waiting!

A family-run pizza/pasta restaurant that seemed to cater for most tastes at a surprisingly affordable price. We found out about it from the B and B owner we were staying at as she said it is where all the local people eat if they want a meal out (high praise indeed!)

The staff continued to be attentive and helpful. Our order was taken quickly and our food took only 15 - 20mins to arrive. We both had pizza and garlic bread which was fresh, tasty and delicious. So much better than similar food from popular chains.

An excellent atmosphere and a lovely evening for a surprisingly low price.
