If you want somewhere to eat that is cheap, serves excellent food and has great service; then i would without any doubts recommend this little Italian to you. I frequently visit this place with my family and the food is so good every time. The pasta is always cooked to perfection. The pizza's are always light and fluffy. and the food is always warm when it gets to your table. I would certainly recommend Caffe Tirreno to you.

We found this place by chance. There aren't alot of tables, so we chose to wait until one became available. The staff were really attentive & friendly. The food was well priced, we had 5 starters, 5 mains, garlic bread & drinks for £66. Calamare was perfectly cooked, not rubbery, goats cheese starter was delicious. Pasta & pizza was a hit. Generous portion sizes. We left full & happy after a lovely day in Northumberland.

Me and my husband recently tried out this cute Italians one sunday night a few months ago, and we were very pleased with everything about it, the atmosphere is spot on, and the food is delicious, there is such a big menu, so there is something for everyone! The staff were lovely, very chatty and attentive, we were served buy what they call themseleves the "dream team" and couldn't argue with that! Smiles all around, even in the kitchen, for what we could see anyway! Would recommend this to anyone, family, couples or friends! We will definitely be back up on our next trip up north!

We eat here fairly often as the food & value for money is good. As people in previous reviews mention, the food is simple and certainly doesn't knock your socks off, but at the same time it is enjoyable and is filling.

Pricing is very reasonable for Pasta & Pizza (as it should be really as they can't be the most expensive dishes to prepare!)
From memory, most Pasta dishes are about £6.50.

The restaurant is fairly basic and as it is very small, it can often feel very cramped when it is full & with people waiting for tables. If you can deal with this though, it's worth a short wait for a table.

Staff have been a little hit and miss previously, we have been served by fairly unhelpful & almost rude waitresses over the last couple of years, but recently I've found the staff much more pleasant. (Although very busy & rushed at busy periods so sometimes you do have to wait a while to catch their attention or get your bill etc). This hasn't put us off though and we do like to eat here whenever we get the chance.

Cheap & cheerful little place which is definitely worth a try!
