“Average curry and needs better service, plus turn the heating on !”
Reviewed April 8, 2012 via mobile

Turned up about 6:30pm, service was sow, food was ok but not great. The staff seemed uninterested, and quite surly. The place was quite cold and the made no effort to het the place up. Won't be going back in a hurry, prefer Dalchini or Varanda in Alnwick.

“Nothing great, nothing awful”
Reviewed October 17, 2011

Middle of the road establishment - not worth a detour but acceptable if you're in the area.

Reasonable vegetarian choices though all dishes a little too similar, with the bhindi bajee perhaps the weakest link. Biryani rice was good.

“Surprisingly Good”
Reviewed September 14, 2011

After arranging to go to this restaurant with friends I checked it out on tripadvisor and was very cautious to say the least. I visited the restaurant more than 10 years ago and the decor doesn't seem to have changed.

They do a set meal for £10.95 on a Thursday and Sunday. Starter, main, rice, dessert & drink with a limited choice.

For starter I went for Chicken Chaat with Puri. It was nicely spiced, decent portion size.
Main course Chicken Tikka Korai. Again it was very tasty, just the right amount of heat but the portion size was a bit small. Veg Pilau was good and we managed to change one portion of rice for a Peshwari Nann which was one of the best I've ever had.

The glass of red wine that came with the meal was a bit rough and I'm used to rough wine! We weren't given an option for dessert and got a kind of doughnut (gulab jamun).

Although the main was a bit small overall I had plenty to eat. The waiter didn't seem to want to be there which spoiled the atmosphere a little bit. The other staff were fine though.

I've had better and I've had much worse curries. We would visit again.
