“lovely place to stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2013

The owners were lovely and were very welcoming on arrival. I loved the retro décor in the bedroom and the room itself was very large, light and spacious. The only downside to the room was that the bathroom itself was down the corridor(past the other room) and was a bit cold for my liking, Although the roll top bath was to die for! Also the bed and breakfast sits very close to the church meaning quite interrupted sleep due to it chiming every 15 minutes! breakfast was very tasty and the dining room was yet again immaculately presented the cooked breakfast options were really nice although their was little choice for the continental breakfast. the owners were very flexible around checking in times making the stay may relaxed and enjoyable, we also received home baked cake on the night time making us feel very welcome and at home! Overall a very good place too stay!

Room Tip: get the room with the en-suit!

Nice size room, friendly owner, good breakfast - on quiet street and we parked right outside. 3-4 minute walk into centre of town. We had the private bathroom - bathrobe supplied - just down the corridor. Slept very well. It's a very good b&b.

Alnwick was a nice town - range of places to eat and a couple of nice looking pubs. The castle was fab.

We spent 2 nights here in July, so that we could explore Alnwick Castle. The family room had a double bed, and a single bed for our daughter. Our host Paul was very hospitable and had baked a cake for our arrival. We enjoyed the breakfasts, and appreciated the inclusion of fruit and croissants as we were not having the English big breakfast. The family room has access to a big bathroom. Tea and coffee facilities were included in the room and were appreciated. The B and B is in easy walking distance of the Castle and Alnwick Gardens and Barter Books. We wished we could have stayed longer to explore the area. The house is next to a Church but we found that the bells did not disturb our sleep. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Hidden away in a quiet street in a quiet part of Alnwick, Percy Terrace B&B is nestled tight in-between a terrace of lovely stone houses. When you arrive you immediately think "Ahh...this is going to be small". But as is typical with these types of houses, once the large front door is opened you see the cavernous TARDIS interior. And what an interior.

All I can say is that this is one of the most stylish B&B's I've ever stayed in. Really well looked after great décor that kicks of a welcoming homely feeling as soon as you cross the threshold. Really good contrasting colours that just add light to the interior.

The room was even better, with a well equipped en-suite pod area and some great artwork adorning the walls (all done by the owners wife). Good selection of complementary teas and a very nice comfy bed to boot and the obligatory small telly in the corner.

Breakfast was good with a brimming plate of full English fry-up goodness, followed by endless toast and coffee, typical good B&B fare where you don't feel hungry until well into the afternoon.

The location of the B&B is near perfect, with only a short walk into the centre of Alnwick and dead easy to drive to the main arterial road if you want to journey north or south to explore. There are some nice local pubs, good restaurants and a good castle to experience, all within walking distance. Why stay anywhere else?

My two nights at the Percy Terrace were great and my first impression was that the owners had strived to make a decent experience for visitors and provide almost like a chill out zone for you to return to after a day exploring. In the morning and when coming back in the evening, classical music or jazz could be heard floating through the hallway. Really nice.

The best thing about this B&B, unlike many, is that they accept cards. So no excuse not to add a few more days on.

Recommended but you should book in early as there are limited rooms.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are good, however there is only one with En-Suite. The others use a shared bathroo...

really nice location, lovely room, great breakfast, lovely host - what more do you want from a B+B?

you won't be disappointed, even the location within Alnwick is pretty good apart from the church bells nearby but really cannot blame the owners for this. A good night sleep, plenty of pubs and nice eating places, great for any joggers (down the hill past the gardens, over the bridge - then either left to go past the castle or right to go through a copse and onto some farmland)- 3-4 miles distance. great weekend, i even managed to get sunstroke!!! in April!!!

Just returned from a 2 night stay in this great B&B - Initially I struggled to find a family room in any B&B in Alnwick & chose this one as our party consisted of 2 adults & 2 children. This fabulous find of a B&B only has 2 rooms, 1 with en-suite & the other with a double bed & a single bed with a bathroom across the landing. The rooms were very tastefully decorated, really clean & very comfortable with much of the art work on the walls done by the owner. Paul the owner was very welcoming & very helpful when it came to catering to our needs for breakfast. There was plenty of parking outside or just around the corner from the property & the B&B is situated only a few minutes walk from the market town which was a real bonus. The only niggle we had was that it was opposite a church which had bells ringing on the hour 24hrs a day but when we realised the larger bedroom at the front had shutters which we could close this minimsed the noise & was hardly noticeable. My children loved the whole experience & one I hope to relive again in the future.

Spent 3 nights in Alnwick at Percy Terrace. It is a small B & B - just two rooms but ideally situated just a few minutes walk from the town centre, castle and gardens. We were greeted with tea and cake by the owner who was charming and full of interesting and helpful suggestions about the town and what to do. The house was delightful and the breakfasts very good. No hestitations in recommending this place.
