Spent two nights here recently with our six year old daughter and found it to be in an ideal location and perfect base to visit local attractions. We stayed in the Family Room which was very spacious and extremely comfortable, breakfasts were delicious and the hospitality was very warm and helpful. Would definitely recommend staying here, and hope to return.

We have just returned from two nights at Greycroft with our two children. This is our second visit and we will have many more. Tom and Audrey make our stays so special with their warm welcome and freindly hospitality;we feel as if we are staying with family! The family room is one of the biggest we have stayed in (including hotels) and beautifully decorated. The breakfasts are fabulous. Greycroft is perfectly situated for a family getaway; the castle is within easy walking distance as are many good restaurants.

The welcome by Audrey and Tom is absolutely lovely, such a warm couple. Every room is different and beautifully decorated. I adored mine with the light French touch. No sound of traffic or anything else, not even an owl. The breakfast choices, eaten in the light conservatory overlooking the walled garden, are delicious, varied and imaginative and just how a relaxed morning should begin.
Alnwick itself is a lovely, individual town with plenty to see, a castle, gardens and the most amazing secondhand bookshop cleverly situated in the former railway station. Surrounded by lovely countryside it is also a perffect place for walking.

We booked to stay at Grey Croft having read previous reviews on this site. And we certainly weren't disappointed. The house is lovely, the rooms immaculate, and Tom & Audrey go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. A real home from home. We stayed in the Blue room, which has the best shower of anywhere we have ever stayed!

I stayed at Greycroft from 05 October 2009 to 09 October 2009 (four nights). It was my first time there - and if Life permits, it will not be my last.

From the minute you step in, you are enveloped in a genuine atmosphere of welcome, helpfulness, and "nothing is too much trouble". Audrey and Tom Bowes work VERY hard to ensure that Greycroft meets (and exceeds!) the highest standards of cleanliness, comfort, and general aaaah…

From the delicious breakfasts to drifting off at bedtime, each day and night at Greycroft is to be savoured gently, and tucked away in the bank of memory.

I stayed here for 2 nights with a group of friends on a reunion visit back to Alnwick. I can honestly say that the fantastic memories I will take away will include the superb accommodation at Greycroft. Tom and Audrey have thought of everything to make a stay there wonderful. As all the other reviews state they are fantastic hosts and make you feel very welcome. The attention to detail is exceptional and to me this has been a far nicer experience than some 5 star hotels I've stayed in. The breakfast is fantastic, fresh fruit, cereal, toast and a choice of cooked breakfast too. Along with choice of decaf or regular tea and coffee. There are also tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits in the room which are replenished daily - some places I have stayed in are not replenished, regardless of how long your stay is!
All in all a fantastic little gem of a bed and breakfast, centrally located for visiting Alnwick, but quiet.
I would wholeheartedly recommend a stay here, you won't be disappointed!

Stayed with Tom and Audrey with a party of friends. Some of us hadn't seen each other for thirty odd years. The friendy hospitality we were given at Greycroft greatly added to the warmth of our reunion. The rooms were comfortable and alot of thought had gone into the decoration and finishing touches. The breakfast was a real treat. Amenities are just a stroll away - Tom and Audrey's recommendations are spot on.
I will certainly pass on the delights of staying at Greycroft!
