Shoddy service. The waitress looked stressed and it wasn't particularly busy. Went for a meal prior to the Adidas half marathon at Silverstone. Asked for a massive bowl of pasta and was told that the dishes are a set meal as "they come in a packet". Radiated food is not my thing and for £9.95 it shouldn't be yours either. They did have a BOGOF offer on but unless you're having steak I'd give The Heart of England a VERY wide berth-we ended up getting food at the local Tesco's in Daventry! We won't be making the same mistake agin that's for sure. Unable to comment on the hotel as we stayed at the De Vere Staverton (book their £29 deal it's superb!) but if it's anything like the food book elsewhere.

arrived just after 2pm and went to check in desk, was seen immediately and given our room very friendly helpful staff. Very good value for money as we booked christmas special rates so £30 for the night for 2 of us including breakfast.
Went up to our room and was very suprised by how big it was, only hotel that i have known to give you a bottle of water too. Had light bite in the bar was very nice and good value too. only problem i found with the room is that bed seemed on the small side but i am used to a kingsize.
Breakfast was the best part of the stay - cooked to order - was one of the nicest hotel breakfasts i have had in a long while very nice sausages. choice of cereals, yoghurts fruit and juices and all this included in the room rate - impressed - would return to this hotel again even at full room rate.

Room Tip: we had room 4 which i was told was one of the biggest rooms and it was a big room with a sofa and a double bed but it is on the front of the hotel so if you are a light sleeper probably not the best choice.

We had to go Northampton on business. We found this Hotel/Pub on the Late-rooms site and it sounded just right as we could eat in this nice looking place and not have to drive anywhere.
All the fairy lights were on outside, very pretty and welcoming. We walked through the bar and to Reception end. A really nice man booked us in and showed us to our room.
The room was facing west, overlooking the roof of the restaurant, bit disappointing there but it was a fine with a huge bathroom, fantastic shower, all lovely and clean, nice big TV on the wall..
We down for a drink before dinner, and all the staff were so nice. The menu selection was a good one , with the bonus of a "Two for One" main meal with NO restrictions on time of eating, AND the offer was included on the specials board!!
We had a really nice meal, stayed in the bar for late drinks then went to bed.
We had a good nights sleep although we found the bed too small for us. That's purely because we are used to a Kingsize bed and this was a normal Double.
Breakfast was lovely and cooked as ordered, not stewing away on a buffet table. Nice crispy bacon, lovely creamy porridge, everything came as ordered, so very delicious.
All the staff were brilliant, the Heart of England Hotel is a cracker and we will definitely be staying there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the back if possible

My partner and I stayed here on the way to meet friends in Warwickshire, We wanted somewhere clean, quiet and comfortable. And this Marston's Inn ticked those boxes.

We arrived mid afternoon, and the pub below the rooms was quiet, the bar staff were friendly and helpful and took us up to the room immediately. The room was spacious and well decorated, with a sofa and flat screen TV. The bathroom was small, but clean, with Neutragena toiletries which was an unexpected touch. The shower was powerful and hot. One small niggle, the toilet flush was a little disconcerting, the button had to be held in for some time before it worked! There was a slight drain smell in the hallways on the way up to the room too, but nothing once in the room. There was no view to speak of, unless you wanted to look at the roof - but I did request a room away from the road, and that's what we got.

We ate in the pub in the evening, the food was basic (2 meals for the price of 1) but pleasant enough. It was pretty busy when we went to bed, but none of that noise penetrated to the room upstairs. Breakfast in the morning was really good, and I got the impression from other guests that this hotel gets a lot of repeat business. When I checked out, I was given the direct number for the hotel, and told that if we wanted to stay again, to contact them and perhaps they could organise a small discount. All in all, a good place to stay and I would recommend it for a night as a change from the identikit chain hotels in the area.

Room Tip: It is on a busy road, so ask for one at the back of the hotel - we had room 2

My wife and I were staying in the Holiday Inn a little further along the road, and the receptionist recommended the restaurant at the Heart Of England, we were not disappointed. At the time of our visit the restaurant had a promotion of 2 main meals for the price of one which was excellent. The food was very good, service courteous we had starters, mains and shared a desert all for less than £25 including drinks, fantastic value.
