“A very comfortable B&B”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

I really enjoyed my stay in this little village B&B. The owners are very friendly, and the room was spacious, clean, warm, comfortable and quiet. I had a continental breakfast that was just what I needed; I particularly liked the home-made plum jam. I had dinner in the Wheatsheaf pub across the street that was good and extremely convenient. The B&B has off-street parking, and the wifi worked well for me.
Overall a very pleasant stay and I'd return again.

Good location. Decor is looking a bit dated in bedrooms but good value for money. Excellent breakfast and nice that it's an optional extra with flexible serving times. There's a pub right across the road that serves good food.

Picture postcard village, with a hidden gem in the middle.

Perfect B&B with all the facilities of an overpriced budget hotel, but with the personal homely touch. Stayed on a Monday night, think I was the only one in but nothing was too much trouble. Room was large with free Wifi, good sized bathroom with shower and plenty fresh towels. Dinner was easy with good quality pub right across the road, food was very good and great choice on the menu. Breakfast was freshly cooked and had all you would expect in a "full English"

This was the second time we have stayed at the Horseshoes, the first time we stayed in the main house and had no complaints. B& B had freeview and now has Wifi.
The second time was even better as we had a room in the converted coach house.
The coach house rooms are spacious, airy and the bathrooms very clean with a powerful shower not the dribble I am so used to when staying in B & B's.
The bed was large enough for 2 quite portly bods and as for the chocolate cookies yum.
There was just us having breakfast and for £5.75 you had a full choice of cereals, fresh fruit, juices yoghurts and then the a complete choice of cooked breakfast on top alas no black pudding though. The service was delighful with a newspaper being offered as well whilst we waited for the breakfast to be cooked fresh.
Parking is on site and there is literally a short stagger to the first pub in the village with a large beer garden. Just another short stroll and you find the other pub also with a garden. Both doing food. but a warning they are not open all day.

All in all a good place to stay if you are travelling across the country using the A14 or want to explore Cambs and Northants.
