“Mutton dressed as Lamb”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

The beers (esp cask ales) are well kept and priced keenly. The ambiance is pleasing to the eye. The food on the other hand has the taste of processed cardboard.

Best to drink here then eat at the local cafe across the road.

“"Oh Dear"”
Reviewed September 3, 2012

Hi, as the title suggests - what a shame - went to The Railway on Saturday for a cheap and cheerful meal and sadly it was the worst fish and chips I have ever eaten. The cod seemed as though it had been pre-cooked and then reheated as the colour of the batter was dark brown, and the meat was tough - a waiter asked me if I was enjoying the food - and I had to admit no I wasn't so he suggested it was replaced - said about 4 mins - it was a long 4 minutes and another piece of fish came out - looked exactly the same as the other - was slightly better than the other one but to be honest has put me off returning there.

“Its a weatherspoon”
Reviewed July 10, 2012 via mobile

Its a typical weatherspoon, so if thats you will like it, if its not you wont.

- the beer on tap is good, pipes appear to be well looked after.
- food better than most weatherspoons i have been to.
- despite being busy, the place including the toilets are well kept.
- cant knock it really
