Just returned from a meal and night away on our Anniversary. This hotel is absolutely spotless, a real tribute to the owners and extremely friendly staff who work there.

The meal last night ranks amongst the very best I have tasted, an imaginative menu which changes daily I'm told and all my courses were full of flavour.

The room was cosy, warm and just what we wanted. Above all it was absolutely spotless, unusual in a building of this type and age.

It's not often I can be bothered to write on here but I would thoroughly recommend the Vine House to anyone who appreciates fine food, great hospital and friendly and attentive staff.

Thank you; we'll be back!

Booked this hotel as we were having an experience day at Silverstone. The Vine House is located in a very picturesque village, very nice if you want a walk and there is a local pub. About 10 minutes from Silverstone.
We were met on arrival by the owner who was friendly and helpful. She offered us a choice of rooms. The room was lovely, wood floors, en suite, tv, wi if plus tea and coffee. It was clean, warm and comfortable, good value for money. The breakfast was first class. Don't come here for a bowl of museli, enjoy the full English with two types of sausage and bacon. Complete with home made preserves.
We ate in the restaurant on the evening of our stay. It's fairly expensive, about £100 for two with wine, but the food was excellent and matched by service. It was a very good experience.
If we go to Silverstone again I would try to book this hotel.

Room Tip: The first floor room facing the high street wax very nice.

My mother and I stayed at the Vine House in early October. We knew about the hotel having discovered the restaurant last year.
The hotel is wonderful. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet and the hospitality first class!
Julie ,the owner ,makes you feel like you are old friends returning and she ensured that we we were well looked after.
As we had learned in our previous visit, the restaurant is exceptional. Our food was of a very high quality, using local produce.the only problem was choosing what to have from a wide ranging menu! The service is attentive without being "in your face"
We will certainly be returning to The Vine House ,perhaps in the spring..as the gardens are fantastic.
Thanks Julie and Team for a great stay.

The first thing to say is that there was nothing wrong with my stay, also that I did not eat in the restaurant, so this relates to the rooms only.
Excepting the flat TV and wifi, my room was state of the art, for 1993. Fixed head non-power shower in a small cubicle with shower curtain; time to move on. There was the choice of a ticking radiator or a cooler room. The wooden floor and heavy wardrobe was a décor choice. Brecky disappointing; no fruit, three cereals, bland sausage, Sunblest white toast.
The discounted price was decent value, but we're about improving standards here, so a bit of investment is needed to make this place fulfil its potential.

My wife and I found this lovely little hotel / restaurant on the internet whilst searching for recommended places to eat near Bedford / Northampton. Julie (owner and front-of-house) was a delight to deal with, and she arranged accommodation and meal reservation for us, and welcomed us upon arrival. Good carparking to the rear of the building, and situated in a lovely location. The hotel and gardens are maintained to a very high standard. The bedrooms are relatively small, with very basic shower / toilet en suite, but the bed was comfy and everything was very clean.

Our meal was truely exceptional! Marcus (Julie's husband) is head chef with over 20 years experience - his creativity and passion for good food are obvious simply from reading the menu (which changes on a daily basis). The good quality, mouthwatering food was beautifully presented - and was distinctly top-class without being pretentious. For a little extra, we booked to eat in the outdoor garden folly, and had a magical candlelit experience.

The Vine House offers a superb wine list, which has been constructed with the same level of detail as the menu. These are not supermarket wines being sold at high prices - they are very good quality wines being sold at reasonable prices.

The small village pub across the road made for a lovely end to our evening. You can find much cheaper food and accommodation nearby, but I doubt you can find anywhere better. We will definitely be returning to the Vine House next year!

Room Tip: This is a small establishment; we were offered a choice of 2 vacant rooms upon arrival and opter for...

We stumbled onto the Vine house when we were looking for a nice place to eat on the internet. The food was faultless. Well presented, using seasonal produce and cooked to perfection. It's a set menu thats around £31 for 3 courses, with a choice of 3 dishes per course which apparently changes daily. Good choices on the menu. We had the saddle of Lamb as a main (there was a small supplement for this) which was done 3 ways and was gorgeous.

Some reviews have said portions were small. We found the exact opposite. All 3 courses were generous sizes (especially given quality ingredients) and we left feeling full. If quantity is the key factoring in the picking of a restaurant then you need to need to go to an all you can eat buffet!

We have been lucky enough to eat at about 20 Michelin star restaurants all over the UK over the years and think the Vine house offers really good value for money. You will pay similar amount for 3 courses in a gastro pub to this and this food is much better! No brainer for me to go here rather than an average gastro pub!

Only slight down side was the wine pricing. Most restaurants (even very good ones) sell a New Zealand Sauv Blanc (which we love) for £20 - £25 depending on how good it is but was £33 on the list. No Rioja Reserva on the list and the Crianza was very expensive. House wine was quite nice but at £19 a bottle or £10 for a large glass, seemed expensive for an entry level French wine.

Owner and waitress were very friendly (despite us misunderstanding the pricing per glass initially, which they generously sorted for us!). We will definitely go back and would highly recommend going here if you want a really good meal at good value for money given the quality ingredients / size / presentation.

My husband and I stayed here for one night on our way to London from the North. I chose it via Late Rooms because the location, reviews and the price was right for us. Vine house is situated on the main street of Paulerspury, a charming village just off the A5. I have to say the staff were very friendly, Julie, a lovely lady who I believe is the owner, welcomed us and gave us a choice of 2 rooms. This is a fine old house with its own charm, our room was lovely despite the bathroom being a little small but everywhere was spotlessly clean. Small car park at the back, and a delightful garden to wander around after your dinner.

We booked for dinner, £30 for 3 courses, with 4 or 5 choices for each course. The dining room is small and intimate, very relaxing with soft lighting and soft music, not too intrusive. The bread was home made-gorgeous, and the choices we made were delicious and beautifully presented. Very good cheeses on the cheeseboard too. There was a decent wine list, not at all overpriced in my opinion, with the option to push the boat out if you wanted. I understand that Julie's husband is the chef, it's clear that they both work very hard to make their hotel and restaurant a success.

We finished the evening with a nightcap at the village pub across the road. (Good beer). Altogether a really enjoyable stay over, a real treat.
