“Glad we didn't pay full price”
Reviewed November 18, 2012

For what we paid (£40) hotel was good, although some of the staff could do with 'a bit more training' as they seemed more interested in catching up with colleagues gossip than replenishing the breakfast area etc.

The room itself was large, but had one of the smallest double beds of any hotel I have ever stayed in.

For a one night budget stay it was ok but not sure I would like to stay longer.

My husband and i stayed for one night whilst visiting friends nearby. We were pleasantly suprised at the high standards of this hotel and friendliness of the staff. As the room was so reasonably priced and included breakfast, we didnt expect the hotel to be much, but i have to say it was excellent. The room was a good size, clean, bright and the bed very comfy. There is 24 hour bar and there is a Harvester just across the car park which is very handy. On checking out the staff were very helpful and accomodating. I would definately stay here again.

I've just returned from a weekends stay at this hotel where I had 4 rooms booked for a group of us.
The hotel is lovely and clean with helpful staff. The breakfast is fairly basic, but is adequate.
The only slight negative was the double bed seemed small, although that may just be because we've got a big bed at home!
There was a slight issue re the pricing of one of the rooms, but this was sorted out with the deputy manager Seb with no problem at all.
There is a Harvester pub within 100 yards that did good beer and food.
Overall I would certainly use this hotel again, and would recommend it.

Greetings DaveLees,

Thanks you so much for sparing time to share your experience about your stay with us. I am glad to hear that you had a great stay.
From time to time, our super IT system does let us down, so thank you for your understanding regarding the pricing query and I am pleased that Seb was able to rectify this quickly and efficiently for you.

We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

I stayed at this hotel recently on business. The hotel is based on the edge of Kettering, ideal for quick and easy access to all the nearby road networks, good for my short drive to a meeting the next morning. I found the staff at this hotel extremely helpful, especially the receptionist Debbie, who being local, recommended a few local restaurants (I didn't fancy the Harvester within walking distance) and she gladly arranged a taxi for me into town a couple of miles away. Next morning I was greeted by more helpful staff as I went for breakfast, which I can only describe as passable. That being said I would not hesitate to stay here again on business.

A clean modern hotel sharing a site with a Harvester restaurant.
Staff are cheery and helpful, room is clean and large (for 2 people) , HIE now have free wi-fi throughout, some other chains could learn from this.
Breakfast is plentiful an very good considering the price, you may have to wait for dishes to be replenished if you are a late riser and compete with the family groups. we are always early (starts at 6:30) when its quiet. We had NO complaint about the scrambled egg as prvious logs have commented, if a cooked to order breakfast is important there is a Premier Inn not far away where you will pay extra.
We would have preferred a wider bed, only 4ft 6 here. We also had strange noises which we think came from the plumbing one night, sounded like ping-pong against the bedroom wall, think it was water hammer in the hot pipes ? It didn't recur the next night.
Its also a tricky junction, you have to bear left at the traffic lights whichever direction you approach from, the sign is easy to miss. We missed it and sat next to someone in the Harvester trying to talk someone in who had missed it.
There is a harvester pub served by the same carpark which gets busy early and struggles when full.

Stayed here recently, our experience was great. We checked in late as a family, we were checked in by Steven who assisted my husband with our bags (many of them). We thought this was really helpful. Free wifi was great and was the breakfast. Would reccomend this hotel to anyone, great helpful staff are the credit to this hotel.
