“Efficient, convenient and quality.”
Reviewed April 26, 2009

I have been to this Holiday Inn a number of times now with business and must say that everytime I have had a more than satisfactory stay. The staff are very pleasant and make the stay as easy as possible when I am away from my family.

Check in is efficient and runs smoothly as well as the dining experience - I have eaten in the bar and the restaurant and found the food to be very reasonable.

I have stayed in both the executive and standard rooms and find them both to be quite sufficient for my stay. The beds are comfortable and I like the idea that if I needed a different type of pillow they will get this for me.

The hotel is conveniently located near to the motorway and it is easily accessible.

I would not stay for leisure purposes as I stay for business and would not mix this but I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone who is interested in going to the area.

We booked a night at this motel to break our journey and avoid the busy Friday night motorway queues. We weren't expecting much, thinking of it as a travelling salesmen type of place, but we were pleasantly surprised. The room was comfortable and clean, the bathroom was superb, and the food (especially the self service breakfast) was excellent. There was a bit of bother with my credit card being over-debited, but an email to the front desk sorted it out promptly and without fuss. We would certainly stay again.

  • Liked — excellent bathroom
  • Disliked — unpreposessing exterior, but about what you would expect I suppose

Booked on a dinner experience package for 2 nights. Check In was fairly straightforward. We were given a room on the first floor. t check in we were told that there was a function and we wouldn't be able to have dinner in the Restaurant but told that we could have room service instead.

The executive room was quite pokey and there did not seem to be enough room but it was clean and tidy. We decided to order a meal through room service. The phone didn't work however, and went down to the reception to mention this, we were given a similar room on the ground floor. This room seemed to slightly roomier, same size but the furniture was arranged to give more space.

The buffet breakfast was very good with a lot of choices and the staff quite friendly.

Also used the pool a couple of times, the staff been very helpful, but it was very busy, so busy in fact that some of the pool had to sectioned off so that the serious swimmers had an area to swim.

On check out the hotel tried to charge extra for the room service on the second night even though it should have been included in the package, this was rectified soon after.

Busy hotel with good amenities let down by problems and mistakes.

Just been to this hotel on a weekend package. Very good value for 1 night dinner and 2 breakfasts. Free use of Gym and swimming pool, Sauna and Jacuzzi. Read some bad comments here but I must say that room was very clean, enough towels and also had a pillow menu if you wanted any other than the std supplied.
The dinner was buffet and it was good.
Breakfast buffet, full english.
Very easy to find, just off Junction 18, follow signs to Crick and hotel signs visible from road.
Just remember to check bill at checkout.

This Hotel is situated just off the M1 motorway on the quiter side of the DIRFT terminal. it was easy to access, but if your arriving late then it's quite dark and the entrance is not lit too well.

The rooms were of average size and were nothing special. Front of house staff at check in were quite curt however the following morning differnt staff were very plesant.

It is an old building with long corridors, but has anice swimming pool. The bar area was nice, service was slow and they had run out of Guiness !!! Ordered food which took about 45 minutes to arrive, but as i was watching a match on the TV i was not too bothered.

I had been upgraded at this location owing to my status in their membershio scheme which seemed to throw a spanner in my room rate, Had booked online on a two for 1 deal at £49 but got charged £89 per night. it was sorted out quite quickly but a further charge to my card of £1.25 has never been explained.

The hotel is not really local to anything, so your not going to be walking too far. It's a good 5 miles to nearest take away/fast food, but worth the drive to save some money on room service.

Overall, i would be happy to go back as long as i got a good deal on the rate.

OK hotel but poor service in the restaurant / bar. The location of the hotel is great if you are arriving by car but there is nowhere in the local area you can walk to. Rooms are fine, the executive rooms have a minibar and safe and the standard rooms dont, other than that there isnt much difference. Some of the rooms (towards the gym) can be a little loud as the walls are thin and many are ajoining rooms with a door that lets much of the noise through.

The worst part of the hotel is the service in the bar / restaurant area. I have stayed there on 3 occasions recently and there was always some problem, either wrong order, took a long time and on one occasion they served one of my colleagues (who said he was vegetarian) fish with bacon (after he asked to make sure there was no meat in the dish). On my last stay I waited almost an hour for my food and then received the wrong order, I decided to just eat it anyway as there were already another 2 people complaining about how long they had been waiting.

I guess the appearance and layout of this hotel are its worst features. It's a very dull 1960s building with the rooms some way away from the reception (through a rather curious walkway over part of the car park) and a fitness centre at the end of lots of corridors. I've stayed twice - once back in 2005 and again in 2007. Both times the food has been fine (slightly expensive evening meals) and the staff have been perfectly pleasant and helpful. The swimming pool is also a decent size. Beware of the ordinary double rooms - they are tiny. Always book a double with sofabed or an executive room. Some excellent deals available on the Holiday Inn website - I paid £49 for bed and breakfast.
