“Excellent value for money.”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

Stayed here overnight to attend a friend's birthday party in Rugby. Excellent value for money. After struggling for space in a double room last time we stayed, we booked a room with a sofa bed and this was ideal. The rooms have panels that pull across the windows instead of curtains, giving a bit of a Chinese feel. (Hope we didn't disturb anyone opening and closing them though.) We had a choice of various soft lighting options in the room, which was lovely. As usual, we'd requested a quiet room on an upper floor and whilst it was quite a trek to get there, we we happy not to be disturbed. I noticed that some of the main areas in the hotel may have had new carpets since our last visit. We enjoyed use of the leisure facilities. The young lady who welcomed us to them was so cheerful, friendly, helpful and informative and it was such a pleasure to relax in the jacuzzi watching bunny rabbits hop around in the snow outside. There are separate saunas for the ladies and gents and unfortunately the gents was out of action. However, I was able to have the ladies sauna all to myself and as I lay down, nearly dropped off to sleep once or twice as I felt so relaxed. We weren't able to have fun using the wet swimwear spinner before returning to our room though as it was out of action. Later on, we grabbed a quick snack in the bar area before going out (as we weren't sure what time party food would be available). Very impressed with the swiftness it arrived and the smiles on the faces of the staff. Thought we might have had a long wait as there was a family function happening. As it had snowed quite badly the weekend we were there and I think the hotel would have been extremely quiet had the function not been taking place. Glad it was though, as it added to the atmosphere in the bar. Only ordered a bowl of chips and a drink each but they were tasty and the bill less than I thought it would be for hotel food. All in all a very pleasant stay in a hotel that we shall definitely use again when visiting Rugby.

We had a large family reunion and picked the hotel for its location. We were all very impressed by the staff at this hotel, right from the start the reception staff were totally accomodating and the check in was swift and accurate.

On friday the bar and restaurant staff all were helpful and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we wanted. I agree that hotel prices can be a bit inflated but when the free kids meals were taken into account, it was not too excessive.

Everyone loved the pool, especially the kids.

I'm sure the family would vote to return here again.

I stayed in an executive room and whilst the room was good - room service was poor for £100 a night.

[-] My breakfast was nearly 30 minutes late ! the restaurant and bar is a tad expensive for a 3 star hotel.

[+] Ample parking and nice view if you get rooms across the bridge.

This caters for the business traveller...rooms are clean and recognisable from every other hotel in the chain.
Wifi is extra, and expect to pay for an hour what you pay for a month at home.
Far better and cheaper meals are available in the Red Lion in Crick,
Most of the staff are cheery and helpful, but if it wasn't for the Priority Club points they would relie on the drivers of the distribution lorry centre to keep them going.

Thank you for your review following your recent stay with us at Holiday Inn Rugby- Northampton and shall be passing these on to the departments concerned.Comments such as yours enable us to target areas that are not meeting up to the high standards that our customers have come to expect and deserve and I am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused to you.
Can I also than you for your comments regarding WIFI. Over the last few years we've invested heavily in providing our guests with super high speed, secure internet.
Technically, what sets us apart is the amount of bandwidth each hotel enjoys. So, unlike a basic broadband connection, we're able to guarantee excellent speed, not just for a few of our guests, but for hundreds.
In addition we offer 24/7 technical support should you require any assistance. To make all this possible we do need to apply a sensible charge for internet use.
We value and appreciate your comments and we are currently looking at how we meet all our guests’ expectations on the quality and price of internet’.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Holiday Inn Rugby-Northampton.

Reviewed this hotel a few months back and lamented about the quality of the food

Back today for a business meeting

We had a burger and a Stilton & Mushroom Ciabatta. The food was OK, just feels a bit processed and oven ready and doesnt reflect the price you pay.

The hotel's fine for business meetings as its close to the M1 but I wouldn't use it otherwise

Thank you for your comments following your recent stay with us at Holiday Inn Rugby-Northampton
I am sorry to hear that your experience with us was not satisfactory and have spoken with the departments you mentioned for corrective action.
Regarding the situation with the pool and spa areas - as a management team any mechanical breakdowns are dealt with by our service partners and we are in constant communication with the engineers who are responsible for maintaining the pool area.
After the mechanical issues have been resolved we then have to balance the temperature and chemical issues that can occur when the spa and pool have been out of action. Unfortunately this may take a while and we are committed the Health and Safety policy which only allow members to use the pool when it is safe to do so.
Can I assure you that in future we will continue to do everything in our power to keep the facilities open. However – there will be occasions when we will experience mechanical breakdowns and a chemical imbalance which will mean that we will have to close this facility until this has been rectified.
May I thank you for your kind comments regarding our management team and we hope to see you again at Holiday Inn Rugby-Northampton

We have stayed here on numerous occasions when we visit family in the area. The prices are extremely competitive and perfect for a family as the rooms are large and clean and you have access to the swimming pool. The staff are friendly, helpful and local so can advise you about taxis, eateries pubs etc. The rooms are quiet, no noise from the motorway and the hotel is spread out, the rooms a fair way from the bar/restaurant so no noise from there. In the summer there is an outdoor area for bar snacks and drinks which is nice although faces on to a car park.

The breakfast was a large buffet and whilst not gourmet, was comprehensive, hot, cold, cereal bread, pastries, yoghourt and fruit.

Room Tip: The executive rooms are a bit bigger on the ground floor
