My parents and I visited this friendly village pub after a chilly blustery walk round Scampston Gardens. We were met with a warm welcome by the landlord and asked if we would like to sit by the fire in the bar rather than the restaurant. We started with an excellent house Sauvignon Blanc or a local Wold Top beer. The roast beef served medium rare as requested was also locally sourced with tasty vegetables, yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes. The pudding of Brownie with Mr Moo icecream went down well with 4 spoons.
The bar at the rear which we only saw as we made our way to the car park looked particularly cosy with a wood burning stove at the centre.
Service was both friendly and well informed.More
