We have stayed in Robin Hoods Bay on any number of occasions and our decision to stay at The Grosvener was made purely by circumstance.
While there is nothing wrong with the place ( which is a pub with rooms ) We were shocked when shown to what they pass off as a "double" bedroom. It was absolutely tiny!
One of us had to get onto the bed for the other to get past and the shower room was about the size of what you might expect on a Northsea Ferry.
The breakfast was pleasant, but our stay was tainted by being charged for a double room that would barely pass for a single.

We have just got back from our annual October half term trip to Robin Hood's Bay and this was our fourth stay at the Grosvenor with our friends who love it as much as we do. It's a lovely hotel, with friendly staff, excellent breakfasts and the bedrooms have recently had a refurb. At £160 all-in for the room for four nights it's a real bargain. We stayed in the attic room which is very spacious - the lighting in the room could maybe be a bit brighter and the shower a bit more powerful, but these are very minor gripes and do not detract from the fact that it's a warm, spacious and comfortable room. The public bar gets very busy with both residents and non-residents and the bar food is excellent, so much so that we ate there on two out of the four nights even though there are several eating places within walking distance which we had intended to try. We highly recommend the Grosvenor and we hope to make yet another return visit next year!!

We have just returned from 3 nights in Robin Hoods Bay and ate there every night. The food has improved by leaps and bounds since last year. The homemade burgers are good, chicken curry and pie night on a Tuesday was excellent value. £4:90p for a choice of pie, chips, mushy peas and gravy. Very tasty. The only gripe is that there are a lot of kids in the pub, some of which were quite badly behaved. I don't blame them getting the families in though as these are tough times for pubs.

Just got back from a 2 night stay at The Grosvenor with a few family members for our wedding which we held in the bay. The staff at the Grosvenor were incredibly helpful from booking in May to us leaving, including shuffling rooms around to accommodate us. Spotlessly clean, warm, comfortable rooms, with a great atmosphere in the bar and a good value tasty menu! A special thank you to the morning staff Norman and Lorraine, such a friendly, lovely couple we will never forget. Overall one of the best hotels we have stayed in. I had seen some underwhelming reviews and can only assume some people just like complaining!

Room Tip: Any room depending on your party size, we will definitely be back with our children to use the famil...

the grosvenor is a great place to stay if you want to visit Robin Hoods Bay and the surrounding area. We stayed in the family room which allows a pet to stay and our collie was as welcome as us. The staff are friendly and helpful and the Sunday evening quiz was fun. Breakfast is good with a choice of full english or lighter options and the service came with a smile. We shall certainly return.

Room Tip: family room is spacious and accepts a pet.

Well worth the 192 mile walk to get there. Staying in hotels and B and B`s for 14 nights I can honestly say that the Grosvenor was by far the best. We stayed in a family room (double and two single beds which were really comfortable) a huge room with a settee and T.V at one end,en suite bathroom all very clean and tidy. The bar staff were really friendly and the beer was excellent. My only regret(having read other reviews) is that we didn`t eat in the restaurant, opting instead for a chippy dinner, but we will be visiting again as soon as possible and will try the restaurant then. The cost of the room was really reasonable considering there is room for four and you get a cracking breakfast too!Just be aware if you walk down to the sea that it is a very steep climb back up,especially with blistered feet!!

Well we have just got back from our 3rd visit to The Grosvenor and again had a lovely time. We went the 1st time for the mid week special of Mon to Fri (4 nights) at the beginning of the year but this has been our second long weekend Fri to Mon.The welcome was again very warm and all the staff were so friendly and very helpful. There was a live band in on the Saturday, a different one every week, and the atmosphere was great. A lovely meal every time from both the bar menu and the specials. On the Sunday they have a quiz night hosted by John. John was very entertaining and involved both locals and tourists alike. We had a real laugh with everyone and even came 2nd. We have come away recharged and happy. We enjoyed it that much we've already booked again for a weekend in a few weeks time and hopefully the New Year too.
