Had a spot if lunch here on the final day of our holiday! Shared 3 sandwiches between 4 of us, which was enough. Very fresh, soft bread and plenty of filling. Came served on a board with salad garnish, crisps and coleslaw. Followed with cakes which were also lovely. Too cool to sit out, but on a warm day to sit and take in the views while enjoying a spot of lunch would be lovely. Staff polite and obliging. Recommended.

We were staying in a B and B so booked into the Victoria Hotel restaurant one evening for dinner. The service was very good, the food excellent and it was a nice relaxed atmosphere. On our next visit to RHB we shall book to stay at this hotel.

We had drinks and dinner at the hotel tonight and it was great.
The bar staff were very pleasant.
The view from the pub is exceptional.
We chatted with some of the locals in the bar and learned a lot about the area.
We went into the restaurant for dinner and the food was exquisite.
Especially the Mulligatawny soup.
Highly recommended

Stopped here for sandwiches and. coffee.
Sat outside in the garden, with its fantastic views over the bay.
Sandwiches were of a decent quality, nicely presented on wooden boards.
Good coffee.

Service rather slow ( although they were quite busy).
Why use such horrible cheap sauce sachets though?
I had some English mustard with my ham sandwich and it was vile - cheap vinegar taste, really spoiled the sandwich.

Cannot fault the Victoria Hotel. The staff were amazing, the room was perfect, the view and the area are breathtakingly beautiful, never been anywhere so welcoming and relaxing. The staff especially are a credit to the area and the hotel itself, so friendly and accomodating.

The restaurant is neither cheap nor expensive, but it's underpriced for the quality of ingredients and the skill in cooking. The steak dinner and smoked mackerel at breakfast in particular are worth a visit alone.

Whitby is just 6 miles down the road, but if you get a room with a balcony you could easilly just sit and watch the sea all day and be completely contented.

We're definitely returning next spring, places and hotels like this make foreign holidays seem pointless.

Myself, wife and 11yr old daughter spent three lovely nights staying at the Victoria Hotel and can I say that the hotel delivered on every level.

The Staff

Firstly the staff were all very attentive, professional and helpful regardless of the time off day.

The Food

The breakfast was plenty full and set up until lunchtime. The restaurant meals were also plentiful and full of flavour. The bar meal children's menu could be used in the main restaurant.

The Family Room

Well presented and equipped by all the facilities you would need during you stay.

Overall a great three night stay in a great part of the east coast, made all the more enjoyable by the Victoria Hotel and its staff.

full and food was well presented and full of flavour. The breakfast we have walked past the hotel

Room Tip: Room 11 was a great amply room

Just returned from a lovely weekend in Robin Hood's Bay, staying at the Victoria Hotel.

The hotel is well situated with terrific views overlooking the Bay. It's a minute's walk from the bus stop with an hourly bus service linking the hotel to both Whitby and Scarborough. Indeed, instead of driving there, we took the train from London to Scarborough and an onward bus across the dales to Robin Hood's Bay and the hotel.

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The staff cooked breakfast to order. The hotel has a restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner with lovely views of the bay, so if you plan to eat there - ask the staff for a seaview table. Not only that, but there's a tea room with various home made goodies. There's also a bar and adjacent room where you can eat good bar food.

I would advise calling the hotel directly to arrange your booking - and this what we did.

From the hotel, it's a 5 minute walk down the steep hill through the charming village Robin Hood's Bay which almost feels as if it's tumbling down to the sea. You can stroll along the beach or drink in one of the appealing pubs along the way. Catch a bus from outside the Victoria hotel for the 20 minute ride into Whitby which makes for a great day trip. Don't forget the fish & chips !

We had a great weekend and are already planning another visit to the Victoria Hotel. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Call the hotel instead of using the internet. Then choose either moorland view or sea view
