This little museum now squeezed into a rather limited space does however provide insight into the town's past. The staff therein were very friendly and wee able to answer all my questions. The displays too, were well presented

“Out of the way but....”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

...well worth a visit. Not a massive place-over 3 floors and there is a lift. Shows local history around Richmond and further and an insight into life in days gone by. Particularly liked the old businesses and what they sold. Gift shop on way in/out.

“Crammed full of history”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

Great volunteer run museum full of fascinating objects (particularly liked the Roman lions) really well displayed. Plenty for kids to do, allow a good 1-2 hours to see everything. A must for model railway buffs and James Herriot fans as well!

“Butterfly heaven”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

All the exhibits are interesting, with a lot about childhood in the 19th and early 20th century. And just outside we were shown a buddleia with swarms of butterflies including many peacocks.
