Owner description: The Green Howards Museum charts the 300 year history of this illustrious local infantry regiment. Housed in a former church in the centre of the market place, the galleries show a range of objects from military equipment, medals and uniforms as well as using personal items donated to the regiment throughout the centuries to tell the human story of those of who have served. The museum is a light, bright, place with loads to discover for all the family and features a range of activities for our younger visitors. The museum also runs education, community events and activity programmes.

This is an absolute gem of a museum! We only found it because we were looking for somewhere different to take visitors. As previous reviewers have said, the entrance is extremely reasonable at £3.50. Even if you're not particularly interested in things military, this is still a really interesting visit. We got quite involved in the World War I exhibits, especially a film about it. In fact, we had to dash out because we would have got a parking ticket - beware, the parking in the square near the museum is only 2 hours and it isn't nearly long enough. The medal room is an absolute stunner - difficult to believe that this regiment has won so many. Well worth a visit - we will certainly be going back.

I'm not overly interested in Militaria but enjoyed this visit. Reasonable prices to get in-£3.50 adult. Very informative and well kept. The medal room takes your breath away! Staff are excellent, friendly and informative. This place is closing for winter to be re-furbished and more user friendly.

Stumbled on this place while in Richmond. A real gem of a little museum. Hi-light for me was the medals room. Enjoyed reading the stories behind the many Victoria crosses earned by the regiment. Only £3.50 and my 4 year old daughter enjoyed it as well.
