We weren’t over happy the accommodation on our first stay in Richmond so we did our usual trip advisor search and found the Arandale Guest House. Situated about 200yards out of the town centre it was in a great location set in an quiet elevated position. There is no parking at the Arandale but parking is not a problem roundabout. We got a nice cheery welcome on arrival. We had room 3 looking out the back with a door onto the decking (would be great on a hot summers evening to sit out there with a glass of wine). The room was a nice size and with a larger than usual on-suite bathroom, nice and roomy not at all cramped. We were as warm as toast in this B&B the central heating was on in abundance.
Breakfast was served at individual tables in a spacious room. This breakfast was by far the nicest presented of all the B&B’s and hotels we have ever stayed at and we cannot fault it at all. We have found our base at Richmond and we will be staying again without a doubt.

Room Tip: all the rooms are nice

We were very fortunate to have a fantastic room in a fantastic B&B during our two night stay in Richmond. Our room had a side vestibule which allowed us to spread out, much appreciated as we were in for two nights. Our host Paul was very accommodating and his attention to detail was very much appreciated. He knows how to make you happy

Our bed was huge and quite comfortable. Breakfast was very good and always very imaginative. A recommend stop in Richmond, highly recommended to all. Richmond is great as well!

Room Tip: ASk for room #2 looking out the front of the house, a room with a small side vestibule.

Paul (the innkeeper) was very friendly. The location of the Guest House was excellent to shopping locations. The hot tub was excellent for soothing sore feet and legs. We were hiking the Wainright Trail from St. Bees to Robin Hood Bay. The rooms were extremely comfortable and
with plenty of space.

Room Tip: The two front rooms on the second floor would be our choice. One room had an extremely large bath...

The Arandale Guest House rates five stars and earned them all. There is a hot tub with a snow machine, but the house itself is warm and inviting. Paul and Tina are among the best hosts I've encountered. The breakfasts were outstanding, and our packed lunches were delicious.

It was our anniversary and wanted something a little diffarent , so came across this charming guest house. What can I say but it certainly has the wow factor. THe room was magnificent , full of splendour and luxury . Lovely en-suite with a large dressing room as well, not often you get that in a guesthouse. Paul the owner even put a bottle of champagne in our room for our anniversary .
After a glorious nights sleep in a bed so large I almost lost my husband we went down for breakfast, beautiful and certainly plentiful . I would certainly recomend to anyone to book this guesthouse , and we will def be back.
The hot tub we didn't try but it looked great, and they even provide dressing gowns and slippers .I could go on and on about this place .Its like a little peace of heaven.

Thanks again
Karren and rahim xx

This is our second stay at the Arandale, and yet again we were not disappointed. Paul was his usual, jovial and very informative self. The breakfast was as we expected, excellent. The room, was also excellent, clean and wanting for nothing.

There is not a lot more to say about the Arandale, other than you really have to go and experience what it is Paul and Tina have created.

Already booked for next year...Looking forward to more of the same!!!

Room Tip: Pick any, they are all individual and excellent.

After a wide variety of experience on the Coast to Coast walk in England, the Arandale was a true oasis! The rooms were very large, the baths exceptional, and the service second to none. My room was essentially a suite, with a separate dressing area, while my hiking buddy had an en suite bath in his that was as large as the bedroom! And there is a hot tub to soothe the aches and pains of walking 14 miles+ each day to top it all off. Paul, the proprietor, was always available to provide advice.

Room Tip: Ask for the room in the front with the king bed and separate dressing area.
