Had a stop over for a meeting nearby.
Very friendly staff, well laid out hotel.
Clean spacious room with no outside noise.
Evening meal was very good, the breakfast was one of the best I have had on my travels.

Had an excellent night great food and great service the hunters chicken was nice and tender served with homemade chips. The baked goats cheese was perfect.
This was our first time eating here and I would highly recommend this establishment

We stayed here one night following a civic dinner. The room was large and clean with a very large comfy double bed. The staff were very helpful and fully explained everything when we checked in. Breakfast was excellent with more than enough to eat and they catered very well for my wife who is Coeliac (gluten free). Highly recommended.

Went recently on a steak night. Found the overall standard of food rather poor. The starters especially the garlic mushrooms were exceptionally poor. 5 small breadcrumbed mushrooms and a bit of garlic sauce, the mushrooms looked shopped bought and cooked from frozen and not fresh. The taste backed that up as well. The person sitting next to me commemted that the patè looked shop bought in taste and appearance. On to the mains and we all had steak (sirloin or rib-eye) as it was steak night. One of our table sent theirs back as it came out well done and not medium rare only for the waiting staff to return and say there was no steaks left for a re-fire. Bearing in mind it was steak night for there to be no steaks left at 8-30 despite there being very few tables occuppied for the 3 hours we were there is very bad service. The mushrooms on the plate also looked like they were frozen previously and the onion rings were definitely frozen also. The accompanying vegetables appeared to be a frozen product and not fresh as you would expect either. One person on the table was curious why the person opposite ate barely any of their steak and when asked they were offered a try and the both agreed that it tasted 'off'.The one star for the rating was for the chips which were homemade and quite nice and the only thing that was not cooked from frozen and also the fact you cant give a 0 rating. There was even a murmur on the table that the steaks and been frozen and defrosted also. Would never recommend to anyone unless there is a drastic improvement in the food quality.

P.S. we were going to wrap the left over steaks uo and give them to the dogs but didn't in the end as one person said, 'i wouldn't even give those steaks to the dogs as they'll probably make them ill'

All in all a poor experience. Get a better meal at mamy of the other pubs/restaurants in th area or even at a takeaway!!

Stayed here Saturday night, myself, hubby, two childern (9&21months) Nice looking hotel quite modern, very clean through out. Friendly reception. Our room was quite modern it was a family room double bed, single and a cot bed, wasnt a very big room but as we were only staying one night it was fine. The beds were comfy.
Hotel was very quiet, we had an evening meal, beef stew & dumplings, goats cheese salad and kids meals all very nice and the staff were very friendly.
Breakfast was nice there was a selection of juice, cerials, yoghurt, tea & coffee to help yourself to and a menu on the table with, full english, scrambled egg on toasted muffin, the usuall breakfast choices, My only breakfast complaint would be a lack of fruit, there was only grapefruit and we like a fruit selection.
There are loads of rabbits on the garden area that kept my son amused for ages as you could get very close to them.
Overall we had a nice stay,if i had to fault it in any way it would be the location as its on an industrial area and the lack of fruit at breakfast although this is only in my opinion (maybe didnt put it out as it was so quiet)

We visited Northallerton in October and thought we would try the Allerton Court Hotel, I remember it from many years before, when it was the Sundial Hotel. It is a bit far out of town to walk in, and is surrounded by commercial, and industrial concerns. Parking is adequate, but if there is an event on at the hotel it is a bit tight, and there is nowhere else to easily leave your car. We found our room, particularly the bathroom, to be very cold, even with the heating on. The restaurant was just about OK, the bar area a bit sad and dated, the whole place had the air of a Service's transit hotel.

Room Tip: We only have experience of the ground floor rooms facing the car park, they are far enough from the...
