We only had food and did not stay in the accommodation but from what we experienced the service was wonderful, the staff very friendly and helpful. The food fantastic. Overall, I would recommend to others in the area looking for somewhere to eat.

Stayed with a friend in twin ensuite visting family. Warmly welcomed upon arrival. Room finished to very high standard, soft and warm decor, comfy bed. Food was delish, staff very helpful, making sure we didn't go thirsty or hungry! Bar area is decorated beautifully with tasteful furniture throughout. Will definitely be back!

Great looking pub/hotel, good beer and exceptionally freindly staff, food was amazing value and good quality (sheppards pie and chips £7).
Looks like its had a full and extensive referbishment, clean and modern inside, large screen tv for sport, clean and well maintained.
Just off the A1M so easy to get too and better than the services! If you drive for a living or use travel lodges and need somewhere to stay that more freindly than the usual corporate box motels - this is worth a try

We were about to leave for Hull port when we received a text from P&O at 14.30 that our ferry weekend trip to Bruges had been cancelled. As we were in the holiday mood and had packed we had a quick look on the internet for somewhere reasonably close and not too expensive. We found this little gem at £65 per night for two B&B.

The room although small was very clean, modern and comfortable. The bar and dining area was also recently decorated to a high standard with the evening meals at a reasonable price along the pub meal theme but my chilli with rice and chips at around £8 was excellent. Too full for a pudding.

A nice touch is the sayings stencilled in to the walls. The staff were really friendly and helpfull. Acrooss the road is a marvellous large store selling quirky household goods.

A tip is that as there is no car park to park your car across the road outside the aforementioned shop.

If you wish to explore such as Leyburn, Reeth & Aysgarth Falls the Corner House is a great base and only a few minutes to Northallerton with its many pubs and shops.

These premises are used by the company (Lochs & Glens) taking us to/from a 5 day break to Scotland. They have a dedicated room to cater for those travelling by coach BUT will very warmly welcome individual travellers looking for "personal service" for meals snacks and/or drinks away from motorway service areas and what they provide at over the top prices.

We have family in the area and stayed here last year and it was an ok experience but nothing to write home about. However we were pleasantly surprised on our latest trip to find the hotel under new management. The hotel has undergone a total refurbishment!! The rooms are lovely very relaxing with new bathrooms. Didn't want to get out of bed as the rooms were so comfy.. The food was great and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. We will definitely stay there on our next visit and can recommend to anyone. 10/10

The pub has recently been taken over and had a major revamp. It's lovely inside, the staff are great and food and drink is excellent. It has a great atmosphere very well worth a visit. They have recently started doing bed and breakfast and the rooms are nice.
