“Old Prophetess”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

Mother SHipton was considered a witch as a child.......she made many prophecies which appear to have come true....boats flying......etc etc.

The Dropping Well, as something to see, people hang various articles up and over the years they petrify from the water in the limestone which constantly drips onto the toys, shoes etc....

Recommended for families..

“DISSAPOINTMENT”
Reviewed January 29, 2013

First visited here when my son was 4(now much, much older)then it was free, you could walk and see the cave with all the toys etc turned to stone, lovely park ALL FREE,then it was taken over by a well known magician and it became expensive in my mind for families with children. My other son visited, said it was not worth the entry free. and they were all disappointed.

“Fab attraction”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Mother Shipton;s cave was a great experience, with the pertrefying well and gardens. A little steep for people who have mobility problems, but well worth a visit. Parking is on site but is a long walk to get to the well. Make sure you have good sturdy shoes. I would recomend this attraction as something different and a must see.

“Quirky park and history”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

The park runs along a river with a small area dedicated to the cave and the well. There's also a small museum that gives some history. This would be a great place to take a picnic. It gets double points for having two playgrounds!
