“Perfect!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2014

We went here on Saturday after we went to view a house we want to buy. This pub was the cherry on the cake, loved the house and visiting our (hopefully) new local just made the decision easy. Can't wait to come back and sample the food. It was cosy and cute, just what you want from a village pub :)

“perfect lunch time meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2014

whilst visiting my mother with my wife in Knaresborough ,we were treated to our lunch time meal at the Royal Oak. Being our first visit to this local treasure we did know what to expect.
We had the most amazing meal, totally different to what you would normally expect of a local Pub. The Royal Oak is a very traditional pub and very popular with the local populous as it was very busy both in the bar area and the resteraunt.
The staff were very pleasant and greeted us with a smile and told we could choose to sit wherever we wanted. Our drinks order was taken at the bar with only a short wait. Our meal order was then taken, Mum had Fish pie of which she said it was better than her own (shock ha ha). My wife had the Gammon and really enjoyed the meal of which it was a struggle to finish but she managed it . I had the Lamb Suet pudding with Veg and Gravy wow amazing, so tasty.
All the staff were pleasant and helpfull and the chefs presentation and production of the most tasty meals was brilliant and he looks amazing as the menu says he is 83 yrs old, Must be the local beer need to get some.
The Building itself is a traditional style pub with a great atmosphere and importantly everywhere was spotless especially the toilets.
Thank you to the management and staff for a lovely experience. Will definately visit again.

“Best Sunday Lunch!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2014

We have visited the Royal Oak over many years and we have never been disappointed. However, we have to say that the last three visits (2013/14) have been far better than ever! The food is exceptional, staff are very attentive and it's got a homely pub feel about it. Log fires roaring! Can't fault this pub! Fabulous food, great atmosphere and attentive staff! See you soon for Sunday lunch. Xxx

“Great NYE celebration”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2014

Went to a one-off New Years Eve dinner, 3 course plus intervening palette cleansers and bubbly at midnight, roaring fires, friendly staff and excellent atmosphere.

I've also booked a number of family oriented Sunday lunches here. Terrific

“Fantastic place to eat and Drink”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2014

My wife and I, will not go anywhere else for Sunday lunch. The Royal Oak is by far one of the better places to eat in the Harrogate area. With Great food and Fantastic drinks you could not choose a better to eat than this nice country family run pub.

Best meals I have had in a long time.

Many thanks to all the staff for making our Sundays a great family day out.
