“Afternoon tea”
Reviewed June 8, 2013

On our way through to Filey we called off at this hotel, it was after lunch about 3pm, after enquiring if we could have afternoon tea in the lovely gardens as our two daughters 4 and 6 were very happily playing outside, the waitress could not of been more helpful . She produced an assortment of freshly made sandwiches two large homemade scones with pots of jam and lots of cream also strawberry's,a bowl of homemade chips a large pot of tea an drinks for the girls.
We enjoyed it very much and highly recommend stopping its a hidden gem! Also such good value at only £19! Such friendly staff .

From the hotels' website and from the price that we were charged I had expected this hotel to be old but with character - country luxury if you like. We stayed for one night B&B and during the whole time I didn't see a member of staff who looked older than 18. You could have been mistaken for thinking that the parents had gone away on holiday and left the kids in charge of the place.
The young people were very friendly and helpful - I'm not wishing to criticise them. But id did seem really odd.
Our room (3) was tired looking and had the smallest handbasin it can be possible to purchases. The corridor along from our room had chunks of bare wall showing where both wallpaper and plaster were missing! Although it was June it was quite chilly and our radiator never seemed to heat up.
For £105 B&B this establishment compared very badly to two other places where I have had B&B this year. One of those was in Pitlochry Scotland which cost £70 per night and the other was in Suffolk and cost £65. Altogether disappointing - I will avoid it in future.

We went here for an evening meal for my partner's 60th birthday as non residents as we read good reviews on here and thought it would be somewhere special to eat. I couldn't have been more wrong and disappointed. When entering the restaurant we were asked to sit in the bar. The young waiter asked what we would like to drink , took my partners order and walked away not waiting for a reply from myself. The menu was then handed to my partner who had just moved from our table to look at the view from the window. I felt invisible!! The two young waiters were not very professional or welcoming. Both the meals were average to say the least and quite bland. I would not return here or recommend this restaurant

Lovely Georgian house turned into a small hotel with wonderful food and a very friendly welcome. Nice gardens and a safe car park. House is individual with lots of character as you would expect in a house of this age.

This hotel is very peaceful, tucked away behind the church in the village of Hunmanby near the east coast resort of Filey, The proprietors are very friendly, Peter is an excellent cook, his wife Stacey serving the food and looking after the guests. Rooms are comfortable, everything very clean. We have already made another booking.

We stayed here with our friends last night, we couldn't be more pleased with the whole experience! The staff were friendly and most if all human! Lovely people in a lovely hotel .... Oh yes the diner we had would not be out of place in a top London restaurant ( but a fraction of the price)

If you are looking for an amazingly priced hotel for a great relaxing break with friends.... This is your place
