“Lovely stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 26, 2014

We decided to stay at the Pheasant as a special treat as it is on the pricey side for us. Glad we did as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We were greeted by a very friendly member of staff who showed us up to our rooms, which were very comfortable, welcoming and clean. We did not eat dinner here as we thought the menu was too sophisticated for our family and would have been a waste of money. However, we did enjoy our delicious breakfast. Our children also enjoyed using the leisure pool. Would loved to have stayed longer.

Superb hotel where the staff make ones stay very comfortable. The food is well presented and sourced locally. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the bed linen is of a good quality rarely seen in hotels these days.
Stayed for four nights and would recommend it for its outstanding quality.

Had an amazing stay with my family last weekend at the pheasant . A warm welcome awaited us from front of house staff. All our four poster bedrooms were of great quality and luxury with nice finishing touches. The bar area was warm and inviting and our evening meal in the orangery was outstanding. Service exceptional and they catered remarkably for coeliacs. Breakfast was relaxed and leisurely and again good choice and quality . Sure I will be returning to this hotel in the near future.

We have just had our Silver Wedding Reception at The Pheasant after renewing our vows over the road at St Saviours. From the moment we started planning the day with the amazing Liz, we knew we were going to have a very special time. Everything was perfect. The venue and its setting in Harome is beautiful - with a proper country feel. The conservatory where we had the reception is really romantic and the meal itself was absolutely wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who are all really friendly and welcoming. We took photos in the terrace garden which is a lovely setting overlooking the mill pond and our guests relaxed with reception drinks in the lounges which are beautifully decorated with big cosy settees and open fires. I cant praise The Pheasant enough. They made us feel really special and ensured we had a truly memorable day.

I stayed in Plum Cottage where I got engaged to my now fiancé for 3 nights DB&B and it was absolutely fantastic. I cannot fault this hotel at all. Its beautifully cosy, I've enjoyed the most wonderful food I've ever had and the service was second to none.

All the staff were friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere was truly faultless. Its the little things that make all the difference and The Pheasant surpasses themselves at this. Fresh biscuits in the room every day and complimentary slow gin, proper tea and coffee and fresh milk.

My Fiance & I stayed for one night, a romantic weekend away to relax and unwind. Our room was "Plum Cottage" and what an amazing room it was. From the moment we were greeted we knew the service would be outstanding. Friendly Members of staff with a "nothing is too much trouble" attitude made us feel so welcome. We relaxed in our amazing cottage with all the facilities we could have asked for. The honesty box was a lovely touch and the morning Tea/Coffee facilities exceeded my expectations. Our evening meal was fabulous! Our waiter was tentative throughout our whole meal, topping up glasses without the need for us to look for him or give him the nod! We spent the remainder of the evening sipping wine and relaxing in the lounge in front of log fire. Breakfast was impressive, so much to choose from again with outstanding service.
I can honestly say that we will be coming back to The Pheasant Hotel, we will stay in Plum Cottage again. A perfect weekend away in the most perfect setting.

Room Tip: All the rooms look fantastic on the website but as there was only the two of us we picked the best r...

We ate dinner here in mid-December. The dining room is pleasant and the sitting rooms cosy and welcoming. I thought the food was all right but not particularly outstanding. We were staying at The Fauconberg Arms in Coxwold and, although having no pretentious towards being a fine dining establishment, its food was just as good. In fact, in my opinion, it was tastier.
The girl who served us was charming and helpful.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Pheasant has arguably one of the most beautiful Country Hotel settings in North Yorkshire, over looking the duck pond in the picturesque village of Harome. Originally converted from what had been the blacksmith's shop, village shop and barns, the main part of the hotel offers one single and eleven double rooms, whilst in the sheltered courtyard are two suites, the Pheasant Suite and Plum Cottage, each with its own private entrance, two further family rooms which each have two bedrooms and the heated indoor swimming pool. The stylish and highly individual interiors - designed by Director Jacquie Pern - give the accommodation a homely and welcome feel, which continues throughout the public areas: the lounge, bar, conservatory, dining room and terrace, providing a variety of options of where to eat or enjoy a drink. The Pheasant has established a reputation for great food under the capable hands of Chef/Director Peter Neville. Residents and non-residents can choose from a wide range of menus, all taking advantage of the wealth of local, seasonal produce, including a fixed price daily Market Menu, the A la Carte, and a Tasting Menu with optional matched wine package. The Pheasant has been awarded Welcome to Yorkshire's "Small Hotel of the Year 2016". In 2014 The Pheasant was awarded the Yorkshire Life "Small but Special Accommodation" Award. The Hotel has recently been awarded Three AA Red Stars Inspectors' Choice Country House Hotel. Seasonal and special breaks are available throughout the year. ... more   less
