We stayed in an apartment between xmas and new year, it was our 3rd visit of last year, the Bay is a lovely relaxing place if thats what you want from a holiday, We were abit disappointed this visit (hence 4 out of 5) as we were not informed that the Italian restaurant would be closed, nobody rang us to ask if we wanted the £15 early check-in, had to ring and ask day before we were due to travel. The pub we feel had lost its atmosphere, the 2 meals we had there were disappointing, compared to our earlier visits where we couldnt rave about this place enough.
The apartment was lovely.clean and modern, the bed again (same gripe as last time)was so uncomfortable and had a nasty cigarette burn in the faux leather bed end,the blind in the bedroom lets too much light in as there was a lamp post right outside room. These are only minor gripes but if your sleep is spoiled, well its disappointing as thats what you go away for really complete rest.
The Bay is fantastic for dog owners, dog friendly, although alot more dog bins are needed on the site.£40 per dog for short stay is overpriced in comparison to other holiday lets.
Valentinos (restaurant opp the Bay) was closed for xmas/new year also,so we ended up driving into Filey for a meal on last night as didnt want a meal in the pub again, went to number 22, we were the only ones in there, awful meal......wont do Filey again at xmas,no atmosphere, everywhere shut

We were thrilled when we opened the door to the three bed house which was clean, comfortable, well decorated, a real home-from-home. The kids loved the swimming pool and play area with the Pub being child friendly too it put us off the idea of going ‘outside’. The beach is gorgeous, clean golden sand and lovely clear Sea for the Kids to play in. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return again.

We stayed at the bay for 4 nights over the new year. We were a party of 17 of different ages and my family stayed in 2 bedroomed portsmouth cottage. The cottage was very modern however the kitchen was on the small side.

This was a pet friendly cottage yet there was no signs or odours of previous pets as experienced at previous parks. This place really is ideal if you have a dog.

The pool was excellent and staff were very friendly and helpful.

I have stayed at several different sites and this one gives you that little bit extra.

We will definitely be returning in the summer but will book direct not through Hoseasons as we could have saved £80 had we booked direct at last minute.

What an amazing new year we had at the bay, filey. We stayed in the 3 bed beach house and it was absolutely fantastic. Huge, 3 double bedrooms with ensuites, tv and dvds in all rooms. Massive kitchen and living area. Disco lights in the kitchen flashing red, purple and green was a fun touch! Under floor heating meant the house was so cosy, we also had log burner which was lovely. Very well equipped with all mod cons.

Pool area was great - kids loved it. All the staff in there were great and very helpful.

Pub on site was nice, good atmosphere and always busy. Bar staff great, food ok nothing special but average.

Whole site clean and very well run. Reception staff helpful and welcoming.

The site is still being developed so our view wasnot great but as it was winter we weren't sitting out looking at it very much!

All in all fantastic - would defo return.

Room Tip: the beach hut

What underpins the success of this resort is the management of the place. It is quite simply; very well run. This is delivered in a quiet unassuming way so that you can simply get on enjoying.

The pool and gym staff rock; the common areas and gardens etc. immaculate; but it is the small stuff, the tiny detail; like the outside windows being cleaned frequently that separate this place from the run of the mill.

Tracey on reception is both fantastic and gorgeous; and I always have to find an excuse just to pop in to reception. Caution though DON'T ask Zoe about the Christmas tree!

After a five hour drive from Essex the moment we opened the door on number 3, The Beach House at The Bay Filey we were hit by a warm, welcoming WOW factor. The weather outside was cold and frosty and we relaxed in front of a blazing wood burning stove and a room flooded in candle light.
For a long weekend break before Christmas this accommodation offers the perfect retreat to prepare for the festivities ahead.
Site staff are excellent, the Pub is lovely and the swimming pool facilities were wonderful.
A 35 minute stroll across the beach to the village of Filey for morning coffee is an experience not to be missed and a day exploring the streets of Whitby fills you with the spirit of Dickens.
But as a Scarborough lad nothing can beat a walk around the harbour, Marine Drive and taking in an evening show at the Stephen Joseph Theatre.
