My wife and I found this lovely cottage through there facebook page and we booked it straight away for the easter monday week. The cottage is outstanding, we had a fantastic relaxing week in filey and the cottage. The cottage is very clean, tidy and tastefully decorated the kitchen has everything you could need for your stay plus theres plenty of towels to last you throughout your stay. Being ideally located to the beach with only a dozen or so steps from the cottage down to the sea front and onto the beach. we would recommend this place to any of our friends and family and with it being dog friendly we will definitley be booking to go again later in the year

Stayed at 5Leys Feb Half Term in sea facing flat number 14. All very modern and importanty warm, especially after a day on the windswept beach. Immaculately clean and everything you need for a few days R&R. A measure of a place is in the helpfulness of the owners and, having had a pair of shoes returned having forgotten them, Kerry is now our hero! Thank You.

Thoroughly recommended and a bargain to boot

Stayed at the Beach Approach Cottage for one week (18/02/2012). The cottage was the perfect retreat to get away from the rush of everyday life. The cottage was beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, excellent bed linen and towels. We have done many self catering holidays over recent years and the level of detail provided with this accommodation is second to none - you really could just turn up for the week with a bag of clothes and away you go. To the exterior, the cottage benefits from having its own secluded patio garden and games room to enjoy in the better weather. Although not a problem for us, its worth noting that the cottage is set back off the main road from the seafront and is accessed by steps. As BazThornton reviewed, this might be a problem for less ambulate people, however, for us this was a bonus - we unloaded belongings into the cottage and left the car where is was for a week. There are many lovely independent shops within 5 minutes walking distance from the cottage so it was great to be car free for a change. Can also recommend a lovely little Italian restaurant in Filey called Bella Italia - well worth a visit.

Stayed 2 nights in the 5leys cottage called Beach Approach Cottage.
I could almost make this a one worded review.....WOW
It is ideally situated, although the steps up to it may be difficult for the elderly or less able bodied holidaymaker.
It is spotlessly clean and superbly equipped, even down to a table tennis table and dart board in the games shed in the garden.
The cottage has a lovely large lounge diner, double bedroom, bedroom with bunks, bathroom and nice entrance hall.
It is also dog friendly

A superb cottage, and as arny said....we will be back, and thanks to all at 5leys

We had booked somewhere else in Filey for our visit to see friends and family which proved to be unacceptable resulting in a desperate search at short notice for alternative accomodation. The group consisted of 4 adults and one 2 month old baby. We were pleased to be offered a two bedroomed apartment at 5 leys.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and could not have done enougth for our stay. The rooms were very well furnished, clean and tidy what is all you ask for. We had a room overlooking the bay it would have been a great view but for the 4 days of fog ( not hotels fault) .

The location of the apartments is on the sea front with just a short pleasent walk to the town and brigg. The rooms have all the facilities required to be self sufficient and are suited for both families and couples alike.

We really enjoed our stay and relatives who visited us commented on how good they were. I would have no hesitation in staying here again. A big thank you to the staff.

Room Tip: Try and get one with the sea view it is well worth it.

We stayed for 3 nights in Apartment 11, which is a dog friendly apartment on the ground floor. We arrived earlier than the 2pm check-in,and fortunately the apartment was ready, which was good,we did have to wait for a parking space which was not outside the apartments, so had abit of a trek with the luggage etc.
We were instantly pleased with the apartment,it was very clean and modern,2 bedrooms and a wetroom bathroom, with fantastic views of the bay,and a lovely terrace with tables and chairs.
5leys is in a great central location, about 5 minutes walk in to the town, and 2 minutes to the beach, there are several cafes if you turn left or right out of the apartments.
It is situated next door to the Downcliffe House Hotel which is well worth a visit, there are a few good restaurants in the town also.
Overall our apartment was good value, it is great to find a place that specialises in short breaks especially over the bank holidays.
Our only niggles are very minor ones, which if left unmentioned cannot be rectified, and they were, the wet room is designed for disabled clients, which is great but the mirror was placed at waist height, there was no hooks to hang your clothes,so everything got drenched as the room does get very wet ! The drain in the room smelt really bad after the water had drained.
The bed in the main bedroom was so creaky ,it just kept you awake everytime you moved and the duvet didn't fit the bed it was a double duvet in a kingsize cover, and last niggle, a few toiletries or welcome pack would not go amiss,(even if alittle extra is charged ) we were left just one toilet roll.We would of mentioned these things but there was no one on duty as it was the bank holiday.
We did not have any problems with the tv reception, mentioned in previous reviews,we also got wi-fi,which was alittle intermittent at times.
All in all the apartments are lovely and we would definately return.

We just spent 3 nights in apartment 13 , 1st floor , bay window looking out over the sea - fantastic
Well appointed apartment , a place to relax and people watch
Only thing we would add / want would be wifi - the mobile reception is poor
We would go back again
