My wife and I have just come back from a weekend at Crathorne Hall and I felt compelled to add a review here. This hotel is simply splendid, the setting is magnificent and the service is impeccable. The hotel was hosting a wedding during our stay, but the service for the non wedding guests did not suffer one little bit. A special mention has to be given for Lucy and Jim who were outstanding in looking after us. Nothing too much trouble, we look forward to returning again in the near future. Many thanks to one and all. John & Amanda.

My partner and I bought the indulgence package for a short break away at the breathtaking Crathorne Hall.

Indeed, in such magnificent surroundings you may expect excellent service and we can certainly say our expectations were exceeded.

In particular, Matthew, delivered superb customer service: taking us up to our room Norton, explaining a little about the hotel and ensuring our stay was relaxing. This was also the case with the other staff we encountered from the restaurant to the reception.

Our room Norton had a beautiful bath and a huge floor space. As there was a wedding band on we mention it was a little loud and moved to Ormesby a beautiful suite with panoramic views.

We also upgraded to afternoon tea (from cream tea) which was delightful. Our three course meal was also delicious; I would high recommend the beef and Eton mess.

Breakfast was also fantastic - we choice to have this in our room, so that we could enjoy the magnificent a view and hear the fountains.

We will certainly be returning.

Many thanks for reviewing your recent stay with us on our Indulgence package. I am delighted that the ‘magnificent surroundings’ were matched and even exceeded by the service delivered by our team during your stay. I have particularly passed on your kind words to Matthew who showed you to your room and was able to tell you more about the Hall. I am pleased that the receptionist was able to efficiently move you to Ormesby room which has the advantage of looking out to the picturesque Leven valley, along with many other rooms looking onto the back of the Hall. It is fantastic to hear that you also enjoyed the delicious food you had, in particular the Beef and Eton Mess. It is great that you are already planning to return to Crathorne, we hope this will be sooner rather than later.

This was a second visit to Crathorne Hall for afternoon tea and even better than the first experience. The service was exemplary with attentive (though not overly so) staff, from the minute we were greeted at the entrance. The perfectly chilled champagne before we ate was delicious and the food which followed didn't disappoint in any way. The plates of sandwiches (a separate selection for the two of us who are vegetarian) were clearly freshly made, the cakes and pastries tasted as good as they looked and the warm scones with jam and clotted cream were a fitting end. A wonderful afternoon which I can't wait to repeat.

Don't know how much of the area you can explore, but the setting is fantastic. Atop a steep valley full of woods, and hobbits... Nice place, happy to go back. Well attended fitness course going on in the snow when I got there. Good population of Tawney Owls (and presumably other wildlife) in the woods immediately surrounding the house. Lovely country location.

Thank you for reviewing your stay at Crathorne Hall. I am delighted that you were impressed by the beautiful surroundings of the Hall. There are 15 acres of land to explore with lots of wild life from the owls you saw to pheasants, squirrels, rabbits, birds and cows. The back of the building also looks out on the picturesque Leven valley. We are also lucky to be in reaching distance of fantastic beaches, moors, rivers and other walks which can be recommended by our reception team. There is truly something for everyone in our local area. The military fitness class you saw is complimentary for our guests so feel free to join in next time you visit. We hope that you will return in the near future to explore more of our grounds.

We enjoyed a Traditional Afternoon Tea on the Terrace in the sunshine looking out to the beautiful grounds, divine a la carte dinner and moreish tasty breakfast the following day. Our stay was truly relaxing! Nothing was too much for the Crathorne Team and their levels of service was sheer excellence! Thank you for a memorable visit!

We just spent another splendid weekend at Crathorne Hall with our family. It always feels memorable as we know everyone so well. We were met by Ellie the hall porter who whisked our bags up to our favourite room with marvellous views of the valley below. fresh milk and a tray of tea & coffee appeared within moments of arriving in our room.

We spent the afternoon indulging in the delicious afternoon tea with delicious cakes and warm scones, followed by a spectacular dinner in the restaurant. The green pea volute and trio of pork were exceptional, but its really the staff that make this place so very special. They seem to be recruited for their attention to detail and their warm and friendly personalities. No formality here, Crathorne feels like a weekend house party rather than a hotel - just fantastic
