Description: The George and Dragon Inn is a timeless Victorian gastro pub nestled in the Yorkshire Dales National Park complete with a crackling log fire, traditional ales on tap, a patio with views of Pen Hill and rustic walls decorated with framed sketches. We couldn't think of a cosier place to settle in with a bottle of red than the George and Dragon Inn's down-to-earth dining room, and apparently we're not the only ones. With one AA Rosette under its belt, the restaurant is a popular spot for Sunday roasts, afternoon tea and hearty evening meals, and the modern British menu includes signature dishes such as the roast Nidderdale chicken breast served with smoked applewood risotto.

a little pricey but if your staying in aysgarth then you have little choice. however, the food served is good home made food. may be a good idea to book a table during busier times.

Sorry, but we found it difficult to choose anything on the slightly over-priced items on the menu - could do with a menu with broader appeal, especially in this location. The soup had a posh name but it looked and tasted like bovril. This was our second visit - we had a similar experience last time we came - and I'm afraid we won't be coming back.

Had 2 evening meals here is September 2012. Great homecooked food, fast and friendly service. Not a great deal of choice on the menu (i.e. no salads or light meals) but otherwise a good place to go for proper food!!

Beautiful food, well presented and very professional service. Would recommend the duck breast or lamb rack

An ex-pub, this bistro is pleasantly located and offers "free drinks for dogs". And that's about it.
