“Great to be back”
Reviewed April 17, 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Our second visit to this lovely cottage and it was just as welcoming, warm and comfortable as we remembered. There is everything you need and plenty of room for everyone to relax in comfort. You can set out for a walk straight from your front door and spend the day roaming happily on the hills in this glorious countryside. The view of Moughton from the front windows greets you in the morning, whether bathed in sunshine or snow (both in the same week) so you can't wait to get your boots on and get out there. For our little explorer the village playground was a big hit and just the right distance to reach on the scooter. The village shop is great - friendly, helpful owners with a large stock of all sorts of stuff - if you can't see it ask because they seem to have a tardis in the back.

“Paradise revisited”
Reviewed April 4, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

We stayed here for Easter 2015, and absolutely loved it, so we were thrilled to be able to return. The cottage remains as beautifully appointed as before, and immaculately clean. The food in the local pub has maintained a very high standard, but ensure that you book a table. The local shop has a good stock of the basics, and merits support. Whether you are here for serious walking, or maximum chilling, you will not find a more beautiful village, or more comfortable cottage.
And No, I have already booked next Easter!

Five star accommodation in fabulous location. Already planning our third stay. Lots to see and do in the area. Moughton Cottage is the perfect base for exploring The Dales and beyond.

“Delightful Cottage”
Reviewed December 1, 2015 for a stay in November 2015

This lovely old cottage in the heart of the pretty village of Austwick, Moughton is a great location for Dales walking or touring. The property has been beautifully restored and well-equipped. It provides comfortable accommodation for up to five people with two good-sized double bedrooms (1 en suite) and a single. There is a further upstairs bath/shower and a downstairs toilet. A small, neat and private garden with metal table and chairs will be an asset for summer visitors. The log burning stove (with ample wood supplied) makes for cosy winter evenings. All year round an excellent shop and welcoming pub are just seconds away.

“Excellent cottage , great surroundings , friendly locals”
Reviewed November 29, 2015 for a stay in November 2015

A short stay , very enjoyable. Comfortable , clean cottage. Good local pub -The Game Cock and fabulous countryside. , A good location for walking . Ideally situated for the 3 peaks ,close to Settle and the Settle to Carlisle railway . The village of Austwick has an excellent well stocked local shop and all of the people we met were extremely friendly. Lots of pubs and restaurants a short drive away and very generally very good food and large portions. Definitely worth a visit.

“A perfect cottage in a perfect place”
Reviewed October 31, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

The Yorkshire Dales has been one of our favourite places for many years and this cottage is a fabulous place from which to enjoy this beautiful part of the world. Austwick is a charming village and Moughton Cottage one of the many attractive houses around the Green. As soon as you realise that this is where you will be staying, you start to smile, then as you go inside it only gets better. The cottage combines comfort and style with a traditional country cottage feel; the sofas are ample, the beds are so, so comfy & the showers are really powerful. The kitchen has everything you could need, including sharp knives - how often do you wish you'd brought your own knives in a holiday rental. All in all, couldn't fault Moughton Cottage and we'll be back very soon.
