“Perfect for walkers”
Reviewed October 12, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

This is a superb place to stay for exploring the footpaths between Settle and Ingleton – straight from the cottage. The traditional stone cottage is roomy with a lovely little back garden and has been renovated thoughtfully and tastefully. Kate the owner has provided everything you need. She is also extremely helpful by phone and email whenever you have a problem or question, though she doesn't live in Austwick. The village is a gem, with very friendly people living there, and boasts an excellent little shop and pub.

“Highly recommended, if you want to rent a holiday cottage in the Yorkshire Dales choose this one.”

This cottage has been renovated to the highest standard with exceptional attention to detail. If you'd like to stay in a pretty, characterful cottage with all mod cons this is for you. The cottage is spotlessly clean and you can enjoy the luxury of pure cotton sheets and fluffy white towels. The garden is very private and has been carefully laid out maintaining it's attractiveness even at the end of summer. I can only endorse all previous reviews......can't recommend it enough, an opportunity not to be missed!

“This cottage is absolutely superb!”
Reviewed September 14, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We have just returned from Moughton Cottage after a week staying there with friends.
We couldn't fault it! It's in a lovely position, is immaculately presented and
maintained and was spotlessly clean. The owners have thought of everything possible to make your stay special. We will most certainly be back and are already recommending it to friends and family.

“An absolute Gem”
Reviewed August 28, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at this beautiful cottage. On entering the back door you feel at home immediately. So very smart and so clean too. You enter into the utility room which has sink, freezer, washing machine, tumble drier and plenty of room for hanging coats and storing shoes. Through the door into the hallway with a downstairs toilet and a store cupboard too. Then into the lovely lounge. There are 2 large sofas, TV, dvd/blu ray player, plenty of DVDs, books and games to choose from too.
In the fire place is a lovely wood burning stove which is well stocked by the wood store in the back garden.
Through the door you will find a wonderful kitchen/diner. Well equipped with refrigerator, dishwasher, cooker, microwave, utensils, crockery etc. it is so very smart and clean.
Upstairs you will find 1 double bedroom with excellent view of the village and hills. One single bedroom and a large bedroom with king sized bed and en suite bathroom. All bedrooms are excellent. There is also a separate bathroom with shower over the bath.
There is off road parking in the driveway in the back garden through lockable gates. It is a lovely back garden with table and six chairs should you want to eat outside.
There is an amazing pub with restaurant called The Game Cock Inn about 2-3 minute walk away that is well worth a visit as the food and drink are excellent.
I would highly recommend this cottage and would also use it again.

“lovely position, very comfortable cottage.”
Reviewed August 1, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We love this cottage [ our second visit] in the lovely village of Austwick, which has a excellent shop/post office, a pub serving good food and a top class restaurant. The cottage itself is very comfortable with everything you need for a good holiday. it also has a beautiful walled garden with small patio with table and chairs.

“Fantastic!”
Reviewed July 11, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We have just spent a relaxing holiday in Moughton Cottage and were very impressed with the beautiful cottage and the tasteful and comfortable atmosphere that the owner had created. The standard was very high, and the cottage was spotlessly clean and well cared for. We lived the village and the walks directly from it, and we definitely hope to return to explore the area further, as there was a lot more to explore and the week seemed to fly past. Moughton cottage rates very highly compared to many of the holiday cottages we have stayed in previously, so thank you so much, Kate, for your thoughtful care with this lovely property.

We have just returned home after our second stay at Moughton Cottage and we had such a relaxing holiday. It's an amazingly cosy cottage, spotlessly clean, well equipped and in a perfect location. Austwick is such a peaceful village. There are many lovely walks from the door and lots of places to visit to. Moughton Cottage is the nicest cottage we have stayed in and would love to return for a third time!
