“Awesome location and great cottage”
Reviewed November 23, 2012 for a stay in October 2012

We had a great weekend in Austwick walking from the cottage to Moughton which is the ridge you can see from the front room windows. The property has a real dales feel about it and the village is a Yorkshire Dales gem with a great pub, the Gamecock serving tasty food. Lots of space for 5 people and a really high standard of accommodation. Will definitely come back again.

“Eveything a country cottage ought to be”
Reviewed November 9, 2012 for a stay in October 2012

Had a wonderful weekend in Moughton Cottage. The cottage is beautifully decorated and really well equipped - it's got a real old-world charm but still with all the mod cons you need for a comfortable stay. Location is spot on, right in the centre of the unspoilt village of Austwick, surrounded by beautiful walks and with the pub just across the green - what more do you need! Would recommend it to anyone.

“excellent cottage with everything you need”
Reviewed October 30, 2012 for a stay in October 2012

We had a short break with 3 children aged 5, 7 and 14 to this beautifully presented cottage in an excellent location on the village green. Lovely log burning stove- just what you want after a long walk in the surrounding hills.Cosy but surprisingly spacious with a well equipped kitchen and stunning views and a lovely pub across the village green. There are plenty of short walks to take the younger children on - mine loved going with the fishing nets (provided in the cottage) to the nearby streams and sitting on the slate bridges playing pooh sticks and paddling in their wellies. Lots to do in the area for old and young, we really enjoyed White Scar Caves at Ingleton and the cheese factory in Hawes. Also the hidden gem of Elaine's Cafe in the small hamlet of Feizor. We will be booking to go again next year to Moughton Cottage as we couldn't fault it.

“Tip top cottage in an ideal location”
Reviewed September 26, 2012 for a stay in September 2012

Moughton Cottage surpassed all expectations. It sleeps 5 and we were 5, I was a lttle concerned that we might be on top of each other but there is plenty of room. The lounge and bedrooms are spacious. 2 lovely bathrooms. Beautifully furnished and well equipped with attention to detail. A well designed secluded garden.
Austwick is a charming village with a pub that does good food and beer. There is also an excellent restaurant and the village shop stocks everything we needed. Austwick is just off the A65 so no winding lanes to negotiate and several lovely walks from the village.

“Stunning 5 star holiday cottage in a perfect location...”
Reviewed September 7, 2012 for a stay in September 2012

We stayed here for a long weekend with our children (5 and 8) and the in laws for a family break in the beautiful village of Austwick. The cottage is spacious, light and impeccably clean. The downstairs living area is large with everything you could possibly need - the kitchen is lovely, equiped with all mod cons (even a dishwasher!!) And large dining table for family meals. The back garden is fabulous, lovely seating area with a beautiful lawn, so picturesque... I want to move in permanantly! I would really recommend anyone (all ages) to visit this cottage... Due to the unusual good weather, we did lot's of bike riding and went out everyday - had we have not had the weather though, the cottage would have been fabulous to stay in - Boardgames, large selection of books and DVD's. All in all, we had a fabulous stay here and have already booked for our next stay.

“Fantastic cottage in a great location”
Reviewed August 26, 2012 for a stay in August 2012

The cottage is lovely and has everything you need for a relaxing stay in the countryside. Beautifully decorated to a high standard and really well equipped. Lots to do with lovely walks right on the doorstep. The local pub had great food as also did the nearby country house hotel where we had tea on the lawn.

“40th Anniversary at Moughton Cottage”
Reviewed August 25, 2012 for a stay in August 2012

Had a lovely weekend in Moughton Cottage to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. The cottage had everything we could possibly need, we were delighted at how spacious and comfortable it was. The enclosed garden at the rear was beautiful - never seen as many butterflies, the views from the front windows look over the village green (Game Cock Pub is a must - lovely bar meals, but pop over and book if it's a Saturday evening as they are really busy). On our first morning we looked out to see the local farmer and his dogs herding his sheep over the green - took a brilliant picture. The Post Office just around the corner sells everything and is open everyday, can't think of a more peaceful lovely place to stay, lots of walkers and cyclists in the area, pleased to say to old for all that malarkey just let me read my book in the garden and listen to the silence. Hoping to return in the Autumn with friends can't wait to sit in front of the log fire. enjoy!
