Austwick Hall was everything we hoped for. Peace and tranquility in the beautiful Dales countryside made even more special by the comfortable splendour of the Hall and its luscious antique furnishings. Our four-poster bed was delightful and romantic.

The hosts, Eric & Michael were welcoming and charming yet unobtrusive.

Breakfasts were leisurely and a great start to each day, served with a smile by Eric. Great coffee from a local supplier too.

If your'e looking for a sterile modern hotel/accommodation this won't be for you and as another reviewer once said - "one night is not enough!"

Room Tip: There are only 4 rooms any of which would be fabulous

Staying at Austwick Hall was like staying in a grand, very well kept home. The hosts Eric and Michael made you feel very welcome. The food, cooked by Michael , was delicious, and although the choice was limited, worthy of any 5 star establishment. We stayed in the Blue Room which was an experience in itself, beautiful drapes and antique furniture. The house has kept many of its original features. The only disappointment was that it rained, and was thus too wet to explore the gardens and sculpture trail - but that is my excuse to return!!

Had to mention our stay at Austwick Hall as my wife and I had a wonderful two night stay there.
It's ideally placed for those who like walking and the grandeur of the hall and its cosy ambience make for a pleasing break and a chance to indulge in fine cuisine.
Most of all the hospitality of the hosts Michael and Eric is second t none, many hotel managers could learn from them. Their attention to detail makes you feel that they are there to serve you in your own home not theirs. We will definitely go back for more of the same please! :-)

This is such a special place I just had to add my own ha'penneth worth to the accolade of worthy comments. We spent two nights at Austwick Hall and were greeted warmly on arrival by Michael. Within five minutes, we were sitting before a lovely log fire sipping good coffee and munching on splendid biscuits. The same biscuits appeared to be in regular supply in a pot in our bedroom.
Our room was delightful with a marvellous view across hill and dale. The bed was excellent with a wonderful firm mattress and crisp white linen. The bathroom was elegant, spacious and big enough to swing a small chubby elephant around. The shower was good with plenty of pressure and heat (always high on our list of priorities).
We enjoyed two evening meals cooked to perfection and accompanied by a really lovely compilation of background music. The candle light and beautifully set table were a joy. We chatted with Eric about their artwork and interesting artefacts from around the world and he mentioned the garden walk which we made a note to investigate the following day. Suffice to say this woodland walk is worth taking the trouble to explore.
All in all, one of the loveliest places we have had the privilege to spend time at. Michael and Eric are perfect hosts and we hope to return

We always stay at Austwick Hall as it has a wonderful garden, sculpture walk in the woods and very friendly hosts. Room and water was hot, food v good. Best scones I've tasted in ages as full of fruit. Great Internet service. As this is a home, it felt very homely with big roaring fires. Will definitely come again!

the hall is lovely, but that is all.The evening meal was aweful. The starter was a teaspoon of mixed mushrooms on a hard blini. The main course not much better, the vegetables were hard, noticed other diners saying same, then had to wait over ten minutes for cheese board. No hairdryer in room.room cold had to have a bath early in morning as no heating on. Breakfast was even worse.one piece of fatty underdone bacon, one geasy sausage(cheap) one over cooked fried egg and underdone hard toatst.other diner mentioned mixed berries at breakfast were still frozen. will not go back as overpriced .

Stayed for (unfortunately) just one night in the beautiful Blue Room. It's as lovely as the website and will definitely return. Michael and Eric are excellent hosts, the food and service were very good, all the rooms are tastefully decorated with a multitude of interesting artefacts to look at, the snowdrop walk in their wood is pretty, I could go on... - book and go!

Room Tip: The Blue Room is beautiful - large and stunning; fab bathroom!
