“A comfortable bed for one night”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

My boyfriend and I stayed here because we were going to a football match at Scunthorpe United. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised with the location of the hotel. We could see the football ground from our bedroom window. Also lots of restaurants nearby and a big Tesco. Easy check in and then we went to our room. The room looked extremely tired but the bed was very comfortable. Only a few channels worked on the TV. We found blood stains on the towels which was absolutely disgusting but the lady at reception changed them straight away and apologised. The shower was broken. It kept cutting out and the temperature changed frequently. In the end my boyfriend gave up trying to work the shower.

I think that for one night it is an ok place to sleep in. Like I said the bed was very comfortable and it was in a perfect location. I probably wouldn't stay again and instead check in to a Premier Inn even if it is further away from the ground.

If all you want is a comfortable nights sleep with no frills then you could do a lot worse. Plenty of food options close by, very comfy bed and a clean tidy room. If you want packs of smelly shampoo and shower wash go elswhere and pay a lot more, more fool you!

This travelodge has been refurbished with flat screen tv's and new dreamer beds. Perfect stopover hotel with mcdonalds, pizza hut etc and a tesco over road. It was clean and staff were friendly. Recommended if hotel needed in this area.

Me and my partner were pleasently surprised with the location of the hotel - everything you could possibly need in walking distance for a single night stay. The noise outside the hotel was minimal for being in a busy area on a friday night - again pleasently surprised. The room was comfortable and clean - bathroom could have done with a little extra attention to cleaning, but only minimal - maybe im being a little picky. The new travelodge dreamer beds are out of this world, even though we went on one of the hottest nights of the year and cant really comment on the duvet, we slept great on the mattess - bliss.
However, the one member of staff we met on our visit really let the hotel down. When we arrived there was a note at reception asking us to call the bell for assistance, the woman who came looked like it was an inconvenience to come and check us in, mumbled the direction to our room and walked off again. I know we all have bad days at work, but a smile wouldnt go a miss.
Would return again!

We stayed here for 2 nights as we were visiting family in Scunthorpe. We found the hotel room clean, and respectful. The only thing I must say is they could do with a new kettle in the room, kettle was dirty and could of done with a good clean.
Had a really good night sleep. Cosy 10.5 tog duvet, 4 plump pillows King size dreamer bed.
The noise out side the hotel is a little annoying but that is what you get when you stay near restaurant. Would stay again

If you have any illusions that staying at a Travelodge is going to mean staying in poor, dirty conditions think again - Scunthorpe is well maintained, spotless with quality bedding and towels. The only small critism is that the area is really busy being situated between two fast food establishments so was noisy still in the night.
