“and a bucket of chips, really”
Reviewed December 18, 2012

We popped in for lunch on Monday as a party of three and our fourteen month old Granddaughter and I asked for the Smelly Feet Panini with a “bucket” of chips to share, and that is exactly what we got, a small metal bucket of piping hot chips, excellent. We also ordered a Pink Pig Panini, and a Sausage Panini, and a sausage and monster mash for the little one. When I saw the size of the child’s portion, and it lived up to its name, I thought there would be some wastage but she really enjoyed it. His and hers tea cups, was a nice touch, and whilst there was a little confusion over the order, it was all cooked to perfection and was enjoyed by all.

“great place to eat and find individual gifts for foodies”
Reviewed December 16, 2012

nice place to eat and browse, plaenty for the little ones to do in the play area. Some of the animals on site are rare breeds (pigs) and interesting. no downsides to the place that I could see when I visited twice.

“Lovely farm shop and cafe”
Reviewed December 4, 2012

The real beauty of The Pink Pig is the surroundings, the whole working farm location situated in a rural area.
We probably visit around once per month and are never disappointed, yes the food is a little on the expensive side, but you are paying for fresh from the farm, freshly cooked, wholesome ingredients - nothing pre-packed or frozen here.
The farm shop is great, lots of locally produced food as well as some unusual items that are not usually found in the traditional farm shop. There is always the chance to sample the cheeses too.
The shop is well laid out and has a nice little gift selection too.
The cafe is wonderful and although it gets very busy at times, the service is always prompt and efficient. There is a wide range of dishes on offer, I have a soft spot for their chips - they are cooked perfectly, brown on the outside, moist in the middle, thick cut - delicious.
The omelettes are wonderful, huge portions with a lovely side salad and thick buttered bread to die for.
Lovely coffee and home made cakes too.

“Interesting site”

Reasonable range of food available with a good 'farm' and tasty food shop attached. Plenty for kids to see outside.

“Customer service needs improving, poor experience, never to return”
Reviewed October 31, 2012

We decided to give the pink pig a try based on the reviews, but was very dissapointed with the lack of customer support.
We decided to try the Sunday lunch as we live locally and everyone was extolling it's virtues. Sign outside says meals 12 to 4, we arrived @ 13.45 joined the queue and by the time the girl had dealt with people it was 13.55, the couple in front of us took a bit of time deciding on what to eat and when decided the girl went into the kitchen and chef declared they stop serving @ 14.00, so after a bit of arguing they departed saying they would never return. The girl then asked what we required, we replied Sunday lunch and reply was we have stopped serving @ 14.00 hrs. The time was 13.57. So pointed out we had been in the queue for 15 mins and could they not oblige, answer NO we stop serving at 14.00.
So I AM AFRAID DUE TO THE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE THERE US AT LEAST 2 COUPLES WHO WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO THE PINK PIG FOR A MEAL.
Usually I have found that most retaurants rather than turn customers away and potentially lose their trade will make the effort to serve people who have had the patience to wait in a queue.

I am so sorry that you were disappointed. I have done some digging and although we serve all other meals until 3pm on a Sunday, we had in fact run out of the carvery. The lady at the till should have made this clear and I have spoken both with the member of staff and our head chef. Unfortunately (or fortunately) our carvery is very popular and we can run out as it's very tricky to assess exactly how many people will order it. I hope that you will see your way to returning one day - we really don't like to disappoint our customers. Best Wishes, Sally
