“A Lovely Experience”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

We enjoyed three nights at Baumber Park. Our room was spacious with a large bay window. Clare was a wonderful host and most helpful in providing suggested places to visit. Even the weather was terrific.

Anyone visiting this part of Lincolnshire should consider a stay at Baumber Park.

Room Tip: Our room was not ensuite; however, we had our own small bathroom across the hall. We knew this in a...

In Cambridge and heading to Yorkshire, Horncastle seemed a good stop-off - especially with never having been to the the area before. And I see why - it feels miles from anywhere!
Originally envisaging one night, I was so glad to have heeded another reviewer's comment that their single night's stay's only regret was not having had more time at Baumber Park.
It is such a wonderful treat. Do go. It is a solace. a sanctuary, a wonderful piece of England.
Clare could not have been kinder. She gave us excellent directions (needed in relatively remote and seemingly mobile-phone reception-free zone) and even stayed up late for us. The following day she obliged us with the fullest of locally sourced cooked breakfasts imaginable.
I was personally very excited to find the only other grower of the Jostaberry I have met so far and to see how wonderfully she set it before us; no ordinary preliminary to the fragrant eggs and b.
The garden is quite a curiosity of pond-life, caged fruit and floral brilliance - part walled, part open through verdant arches to disappearing horizons of fields, laden with rare-breed cattle.
Warned away from Skegness, we chose instead the beautiful treasure of Lincoln which I am almost embarrassed to have never thus far had the pleasure of visiting.
We were well advised on good walks and evening eateries in the area and even offered a lift back by our considerate host!
It seemed a shame to have to go after our second breakfast but with Claire's directions on the prettiest route home amazingly we happened upon a full field of poppies in which to picnic dreamily.

A lovely place to stay, Clare provides a warm friendly welcome and was very helpful throughout my stay, I felt completely at home the moment I arrived. The bedrooms are large and traditional, there is also a guests living room. This is a working farm and although this is at the rear of the house there is noise at all at the front where guests stay. There are lovely walks and a beautiful garden overlooking farm land. During my stay the cows were calving at the time, my curiosity of farm life was fuelled by Clare's openess for me to roam around and experience the day to day workings. I wish I could have stayed longer, a real sanctuary.

We only stayed two nights with Claire Harrison but found it a really fine experience. It;s a lovely farm that seems out of the way but is only 25 minutes from Lincoln and has fine places to eat nearby. The breakfasts were well done with Lincolnshire sausage a highlight. The only drawback was the bathroom being. a little cramped but the view and the size of the room more than nade up for it. A great spot at a great price.

We stayed for two nights and had a really lovely time. Clare, the landlady was relaxed, friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast, with eggs from the farm and great bacon - always a good sign! Our room was great and the house and gardens very lovely - perfect place to relax and unwind. I would recommend highly.

We stayed for two nights in this lovely working farmhouse in the Lincolnshire countryside. It is a fine old house with beautiful gardens and views: sheep and cattle graze in the field outside the window. The breakfast was very good with locally or home-sourced produce.

The hosts were very kind and recommended local restaurants and attractions. We also bought some very tasty free-range eggs from them.

We stayed in a twin room with separate but exclusive bathroom. The house was immaculately clean throughout.

This is handy for Lincoln, Horncastle and Woodhall Spa Golf Centre.
